I agree. The reality is there isn't much money to be made in concessions. I know some fans think differently but concession revenues make up less than 2% of total revenues. That's chump change to LSU.
Do as you suggest. Make an effort to make concessions a first class operation. Feature Louisiana food. That's what we're known for. Keep prices at an affordable level.
Yes, LSU would take a small revenue hit doing this. Instead of making $2.5 mil they may only make $1 mil or so. Big deal. It would go along way to improving the gameday experience. Who knows, it may actually increase sales enough to where they don't take much of a financial hit.
Just a late night thought...

Why does LSU try to rape you at the concessions?
I suppose they need to rape you due to the ridiculous contracts and raises Alleva annually hands out

Sounds nice but buying a bunch of slop on the cheap and shoveling it to the masses for outrageous prices is better for the bottom line

BAMA wasn’t any better, got the dreamland pulled pork bbq nachos.... pork/cheese/bbq sauce all stone cold....didn’t try them til I got back to the stands...ate a few and stopped for fear of montezumas revenge, they were nasty. Should have returned them but 3rd quarter had just started, and we were yelling our asses off

as ridiculous as it sounds partnering with Aramark is about as dumb as Alleva hiring Orgeron...probably even worse. aramark's reputation is abysmal and Alleva doesn't blink for the $$$

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I pretty much just buy mixers unless I am in club seats. Really regardless of vendors it's still packaged nacho cheese

The people who would ordinarily be great concessions workers are working better jobs

Yeah same here for football. But if I'm going to a weeknight game at the PMAC sober like tonight it'd be nice to eat some decent food for a reasonable price. Instead of $15 for 2 hot dogs and a coke

We learned our lesson at the first game. The food is horrible and the price is ridiculous. We normally eat at the games but have decided to pick up a hamburger and eat on the road driving to Baton Rouge. This has really become pathetic.

It’s a disaster this year. The new contract has destroyed concessions at LSU. They always had been at least decent but now are horrible

Just guess where Larry Wallace director of LSU concessions got his degree?
You guessed it, Alabama

Despite going to Bama, Larry's a good dude. He's been there since the early 2000s when LSU decided to contract out. He left a couple of years ago to open a bar and grill in Denham. Didn't know he returned to concessions.
Pretty shitty job imo. Have to make money for Aramark and LSU on a shoestring budget then catch shite from everyone when it goes poorly. Can't believe he went back. Oh well...good luck to him, I guess.

The worse concession of any state school and probably the worse in the SEC. There is absolutely no shits given to serving the fans a decent product.

I? really enjoyed the food tonight. Had nachos and a hot dog and was pleasantly surprised. They did a great job with the food tonight

Are the sausage poboys officially extinct? I beg not.
Posted on 11/17/17 at 12:56 am to Nature Boy
I suggest that someone start campaigning to have a mass boycott of concession. Not to hurt LSU but to get their attention. It does no good to complain if everyone is still buying their product. For the Texas A&M game and the next basketball game urge all fans to spend the bare minimum or nothing at all inside the stadium.

Yep. I was there for the Alcorn State game. 7 people behind the counter who "work there" and one register needed some ones and 5's and nobody knew what to do. The coke machine was half water and coke and the people ringing you up at the register were incompetent..... and all this happened BEFORE the frickin game! I'm so glad someone brought attention to this. If you want more people to show up to the games, have better people working the concessions. It really is a joke and whomever is responsible for hiring these people are the real problem. Management starts at the top.

Auburn game, early third quarter.
Bought four, $5.50 Disani waters. All were hot. Not cold, not cool, not even room temperature. Hot!
Asked for cups of ice.
Wanted $4.50 per cup!

I always sneak in my corn dogs and beer. With cargo pants, personal record of 13 beers. Corn dogs just for show, but they’re still better than the crap for sale.
