They don't need him to win with defense, they just need someone to IMPROVE it, and Mahomes will OUTSCORE the opponent

Statements like this prove that most people don't understand the mentality coaches at this level have. Having a good or bad opposite side of the ball doesn't bother them as much as people think on here. They are type A personalities that blame themselves for everything that goes wrong in a game.

I would venture to say we will have him for the next few seasons even.

Well in his OWN WORDS, he said he wanted to be a college head coach. Were you not paying attention during bowl week?

When he leaves within the next 2 years, it'll be for a HC college job. Hopefully not in the SEC.

Aranda may leave after 2019 or 2020.

And then the wheels will fall off when O hires Monte Kiffen as Aranda's replacement. Or brings Pete Jenkins back.

Doesn't make sense to move to NFL. He's a proven college defensive coordinator, which is totally different from the NFL game. He's on the verge of getting a HC job in the future and it would make no sense to jeopardize that to take on a totally different situation. I don't see him moving anywhere unless it's a HC of another college football program! Not to mention he has a pretty solid group returning next season at LSU!

KC will hire Rex Ryan.
Playoff team hiring a coach with a ton of league experience makes a lot kmore sense to me.

Kansas City has had the 6th highest violent crime rate in the country

Also, the defense may not have to win them games but it sure lost it for them on Sunday.

Name the last college defensive coordinator that went straight to the NFL as a defensive coordinator. It hasn't happened in a long time. There is no current NFL DC that came straight from college.

On the offensive side, it also almost never happens. Sark is the only one in recent memory.

After Kingsbury's hire nothing would shock me.

His resume certainly isn't nearly as good for a college HC as Aranda's is for a college DC.

All it takes is one franchise to think highly of him and take a chance. If Kingsbury can get that gig anything is possible.

Would be a fortuitous place to land. Typically these job openings are with teams at the bottom of the league. Jets and Raiders can’t be that interesting, but KC would be tempting.

I agree. But no one was talking about Kingsbury as an NFL coach, thus the shock. People, at least on this site, think that Aranda is a lock as a future NFL DC. In reality, most NFL head coaches and coordinators, have very little college experience. Most are NFL lifers. The ones that have college experience, it was usually long ago as young coaches.

KC is a heckuva great place to live and raise a family. Better than BR I hate to admit because have great memories growing up here. But can tell you from first hand experience, KC is a huge quality of life draw.
