know hot take but if how Nuss plays could help the coaches decide how to approach the QB transfer portal. Are we looking for a 1 or quality depth.

The coaches already know the answer to this.

I can't believe this dumb point keeps getting repeated.

I would agree with this post, sorta, if I didn't already know that you're a raging, and I men lunatic, Daniels hater. You are an extremely biased idiot so your opinion could never matter on a discussion of if Nuss is good enough.

Weird you have no issue with hating Nuss like the person he's replying to clearly does.

No, because of the rampant idiots, it’s not remotely a meaningless game. It’s plays a role in the vibe of your program, it’s plays a role in the perspective of the next season, it plays a role in capping off the current season, which was my prior point as to most of the folks who would call it a meaningless game still stake a bad showing personal. And most importantly, it plays a role in the psyche of the players.

I want nuss to take meaningful snaps to prepare for the future. But that’s ideally after Daniels has given him some breathing room. And hey, if Daniels goes, I won’t fault him for it.

But if you want both Nuss to handle it all from start to finish, AND irredeemably judge him with THIS defense to back him up, frick you, you are an idiot. We all agreed that we would have more losses if we didn’t have a beast of JD. how on earth do you set that as the baseline.

Daniels opting out has nothing to do with next year qbs.

So you read what you wanted of what I said. Mmh...okay.

Kinda funny you skipped literally the first 6 words to get to the only thing that triggered you. Are you saying you are also biased, or are you just stupid?

If you're dumb, just say you're dumb.

It's weird how you're essentially a toddler, but think this an effective response. You criticized him for being a "Daniels hater" when he didn't even mention Daniels. Yet failed to respond to the person he was responding to. Almost like you have a double standard that's fairly obvious.

Also feel there is considerable overlap of folks who call it a meaningless game with those who would loudly bitch if we have a poor showing there.

I think I had him confused with another Chad on here. There is a Chad poster on here that is completely insanely against Daniels.

I am 100% on board with Nuss next year if that is what the coaches want to do, however I would take Cam Ward and Kaiden Salter in a heartbeat if they wanted to come here. Both have experience, Salter is like a shorter Daniels and Ward is is a big bodied, very mobile pocket passer with a big arm and has started 3.5 years in pass happy offenses

I don't see why he would play in the bowl game. His draft stock isn't going to get higher, and he risks injury for what?

I dont like players sitting out, but I don't blame him.

I suspect he throws the record breaking pass to nabors and then they both come out

... to a standing ovation of course.

If I were one of his boys I'd be telling him not to play. There's nothing to gain, a lot to lose.

You were spot on, he hated Daniels and still does, he just disguises it for obvious reasons.

I think it is unlikely he plays but again the staff loves Nuss so this meaningless bowl game is not going to change their minds. If they decide to take a transfer portal QB to bolster the QB room the bowl game is not going to have anything to do with it.

I expect to see Nuss play in the bowl game regardless.

Nuss isn't the one I'm worried about. We know what we have in him, and he should only improve through spring and summer.

Collins is the one I'm concerned about. He's smart, and he's a dual threat like JD, but he hasn't gotten to do anything. He needs experience and reps, and I'm afraid if we bring in a guy with experience then he'll be stuck at 3rd string. We'd stand a good chance of him hitting the portal, and it would make us have to constantly rely on the portal for QBs.

We have gotten lucky twice, but we are the exception not the rule.

Well the current transfer portal window closes the day after our bowl game so I’m not sure that would help much at all.

BK already knows if Nuss is going to cut it or not. He doesn’t need an exhibition game to validate it.

This is why bowls are dumb. I love watching him play and consider it a privilege every time I do but at this point, the dude has climbed so far and progressed so much that I want to see him to well at the next level. Like you said, his draft stock isn’t getting higher than it is now, coming off the Heisman. I hope he sits and anyone who would judge him for that because they want to be entertained by a meaningless football game is just being a selfish idiot.

What makes this a "meaningless football game"? Because it's not for a conference championship or a CFP game? If that was the case, shouldn't Daniels have shut it down after being mathematically eliminated when they lost to Alabama? Or was it OK for Daniels to "entertain" you for 3 more meaningless games to win the Heisman Trophy? How would you feel if the coaches benched Daniels to give Nussmeier the reps since those 3-4 games are "meaningless"? Do you think Daniels became a finalist all by himself without the help of teammates and coaches?
