Daniels Opting Out Would Make QB Transfer Portal Decisions Easier

I want to see JD play one more game in purple and gold just like everyone else; however getting to see Nuss with the 1s against a quality opponent would help BK see what his squad would look like next year.

I know hot take but if how Nuss plays could help the coaches decide how to approach the QB transfer portal. Are we looking for a 1 or quality depth.

I don't see why he would play in the bowl game. His draft stock isn't going to get higher, and he risks injury for what?

I dont like players sitting out, but I don't blame him.

This would be the best case scenario for LSU. Find out if BK has to find another great QB in the portal.

I love all these posts that think a Wisconsin game is a given win, so let’s throw Nuss in there with little support, and no defense to give him a little breathing room. Sink or swim, boy, no warm up games for you.

Also feel there is considerable overlap of folks who call it a meaningless game with those who would loudly bitch if we have a poor showing there.

Also like the implicit statement that BK can’t develop a pretty good feel of his players from practices.

One more run with his boys?

It’s one of the things that made college football great, the emotion and passion and it seems the fans are eager to turn it all something as clinical as a business transaction. Some obviously are no longer capable of viewing it any other way.

Is that what you want our players perspective of the school to be? A pathway to the NFL and literally nothing else?

Unless Nuss takes a great leap forward, which he could, he's just not the guy. I haven't seen anything from him that tells me he's going to light it up here. I hope he makes that jump in the offseason. Other QBs have and he has the physical tools to do so.

No win is a given with our D. And without JD, then all bets are off.

Who said it was a given? LSU needs to see if Nuss can be the guy! This would be a great test. If we lose, who cares! Slate is clear next year.

So if it isn’t kicking on all cylinders to essentially score every time he touches the ball on his first game against a P5 team, he is shite and we need to look elsewhere.

That is the new min standard for LSU quarterbacks by the fans: they need Heisman tier performances from redshirt Freshman.

frick game manager style players.

This is why bowls are dumb. I love watching him play and consider it a privilege every time I do but at this point, the dude has climbed so far and progressed so much that I want to see him to well at the next level. Like you said, his draft stock isn’t getting higher than it is now, coming off the Heisman. I hope he sits and anyone who would judge him for that because they want to be entertained by a meaningless football game is just being a selfish idiot.

I doubt he plays but he won’t make that announcement until after the Heisman

BK won't decide off one game. Also Wisconsin is a trash opponent.

I would like Nuss to get game reps in the bowl game.
Coaches evaluation for now is done. They have decided on their plan. How it comes together with portal will determine which QB is signed. If we want to be legit contenders, then no question we need a legit backup. I like our young guys, but it’s a stronger team when the backup has more experience. A redshirt freshman and a true freshman will have Zero. Much like two years ago, when Daniels was available, we will find a dual threat to compete with our returning QB.

He’ll play to break the 4000 yards mark and get Nabors his receiving yards record

Then hand it over to Nuss
