Just saw an alert come across my phone. Disappointing that he's not playing but wish him the best in his future in the NFL.

Good for him. He got so much better during his time with us. Get paid now!

He should not play in this bowl game.

He is a 1st or 2nd round pick and has a child. He gave us everything he had this year, no more is needed.

Wish him all the best in the NFL.

Bowl games are worthless now anyway. Only the playoffs matter.

It’s okay for some to opt out or not others?

I would have liked for him to play because it would have given us a better chance at winning the game. But I have no issue in him choosing to not play in the bowl game.

He is going to be a high draft pick this year because of what he did on the field. This bowl game offers him nothing.

Neil Farrell should have played in my opinion but its his choice I cannot fault anyone for making a business decision to better their careers.

Good for him because this bowl game has a completely reduced value.

BUT That is not something you would expect from the guy wearing the 18. That was selfish and the 18 was for the most unselfish player on the team.

Didn't he grade out as one of the top DL in the country? What would he have proven in this game that he didn't against better competition throughout the year?

Damone and Neil both made the right BUSINESS decision. As mentioned earlier why take the chance of injury in the mighty Texas Bowl. Good luck to them both.

Makes sense because he needs to protect himself.

If he’s not getting a first round evaluation then he’s most likely playing in the senior bowl if he’s been invited

They need to do away with these special #’s 7 and 18. These are supposed to be leaders not people who opt out, but like one of y’all said it’s OPT OUT U now..

LSU should opt out this game. No one wants to see 3rd stringers in a preseason game type situation. The players don’t want to play this game. They don’t care.

He stuck around when others quit midseason or got "injured."

I'm happy for him.

Screw the Weed Whacker Bowl; let the JV play.
