Couple takeaways from the Saban doc

1. The new Saban documentary on ESPN is an absolute must watch for any fan of college football and especially LSU fans. The like of this man Nick Saban, there are not many leaders of men the like of this that any society can produce. If he had been born in a different era he would have been a great general and conqueror. But indeed in this era he was the same in the realm of college football which is really warfare by another means.
2. We have got and I mean we have got to beat these inbred psycho motherfrickers at the University of Alabama. These frick tards hit the lotto jackpot by having Saban fall into their lap. LSU is the superior institution and athletic department and we have got and I mean we have to to put these losers in their place. BUCK FAMA!

If our countries leaders would pay as much attention to detail our world would be a better place

It’s game day against a quality opponent, on the road, and you’re worried about Bama?!?
Get your mind right. We got a ways to go till get the gumps at home.

You have got, and I mean have got to quit speaking like this. The like of this thread is meaningless

The most interesting part of the doc to me was Dr. Rosen.
I had heard him mentioned over the years but didn’t know the exact idea that he gave Saban heading into that Ohio State game.
The stat that Saban was something like 32-24 as a HC before that game and 246-44 after that game was absolutely insane.
Also really interesting learning about his dad and how he grew up in West Virginia. Can definitely see the influence he had in the way he approached things.
I haven’t gotten past episode 3 yet, but I’m hoping they at least allude to the clear recruiting advantages Saban enjoyed to go from a great coach and recruiter to literally the number one recruiting class every year for over a decade, but I doubt it
Like hey Coach, how did Rolando get that very expensive racing bike that he wrecked in 2008? Dodge Chargers? Deer antler spray?
That’s a mighty nice helicopter you were flying around in for over 14 hours a day, but no money trickling down to the recruits huh? They just loved watching you do the Cupid shuffle that much?

Agreed the Dr Rosen stuff was absolutely fascinating

Agreed. It's time to assert ourselves, and it starts with beating a surging Kentucky.

It boggles my mind how people recognize Saban as the greatest coach of all time, yet push the narrative that top recruits only wanted to play for him because they got paid. Do you really think Bama was the only school doing this? Hell, our own coach got caught doing it in basketball.
When I was in high school decades ago, our school had a blue chip recruit. In his senior year he was driving a new Z28 with a personalized license plate with his future LSU jersey number (LSU 72 or whatever his number was). Just saying.
Saban got the top recruits because pre-NIL era players wanted to win championships.

Nick bailed on us for something he said he'd never do - coach in NFL again.
Traitor forever.
Traitor forever.

You know that Bama has had the better football program before, during and after Saban, right?

And get developed for the nfl. Saban has said had he stayed at LSU he would’ve produced a lot more nfl players.

Why go Buck Fama after unleashing about 6 fricks before that ?
Posted on 10/10/26 at 8:03 am to LSBoosie
Screw Saban. I want a special 20-25 years from now called KIFFIN because he has more nattys than Lord Saban. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!
Posted on 10/10/26 at 8:04 am to LSBoosie
Exactly. People forget that before Saban became the greatest coach in history, Bama previously had the greatest coach in history.

When did Terry become such a central figure ? Like she had a presence when he was here but not First Lady of state type shite.
Never bought the narrative terry runs shite, I think they started pushing that to humanize Sabanbot

I never said they ONLY wanted to play for him because they got paid lol.
But if you don’t see that there was a structure in place at Alabama that no other school enjoyed leading to a recruiting run that no other school has ever come close to achieving, then we’ll just agree to disagree.
Alabama has always enjoyed a certain level of benefit given their proximity to the SEC offices, this is almost universally acknowledged.
Mark Emmert becoming President of the NCAA in 2010 provided Saban an additional layer of insulation from scrutiny that no other coach or program could have ever enjoyed as he built his dynasty.
Now in addition to those benefits, yes, he is also one of the greatest coaches to ever live, maybe even the very best.
But the same could be said about Steve Spurrier, Urban Meyer, or even Pete Carroll. But none of those coaches achieved anything close to what Saban did for 17 years.
It certainly begs the question, how?
Saban won 57.6% of his games at Michigan State.
He won 75% of his games at LSU.
He won 87.4% in Tuscaloosa.
He won almost 9 out of every 10 games he played for 17 seasons. Anyone who has followed any sport for any amount of time should be able to see the likelihood that there was an unequal playing field to achieve that type of result.

People who don’t get this need to do some research into Bryant Bank.

They all do this. Most coaches are traitors to some teams along the way. Our current coach is viewed as traitor by 2 teams. So I'm not going to hold this against Saban or Kiffin. It's part of the business and fans will always get screwed at some point.

Yeah and he also absolutely never said that either lol.
Like where do people get this shite

Telling that he dominated when the REC was buying him players but NIL made him quit. Just like Belichick was a genius with Brady but sucked without him.
