People here won't admit it, but LSU would have been better off keeping O given what we know now, especially factoring in the financial part now.

We could have gotten rid of O after a few more years with no buyout and got Dan Lanning or another up and comer. Instead we have a decrepit rusted boat anchor on the program for the next 7 years.

So say we kept O until this past offseason and went 7-5 every year, who do we hire?

No. CBK got us here. HIS decisions. HIS hires. HIS leadership got us here. Coach O has been gone for years now.

Correct. After a stunning year one CBK failed to build on the early success he had. We have been sputtering along trying to fill holes in our roster.

But we are better off than when O left just not where we need to be.

It was then that N. Louisiana LSU boosters forced Coach O out. They never liked him, didn't like his accent, didn't like how he represented LSU, didn't like how Louisiana was being represented.

Why is it easier for some to believe that Coach O was somehow forced out than to believe he was simply a mediocre coach at best who caught lightning in a bottle? All you have to do is look at his record as a head coach.

As a head coach including interim.

67-47 58.8%

Record as HC without interim tag (when he had full control)

55-43 56.1%

Record minus Joe Burrow with iterims

42-44 48.8%

Record minus Joe Burrow without iterims

30-40 42.9%

quote:

So, what have does LSU have now?

They have been better for the last 3 seasons than the last two seasons of Coach O despite the team being decimated due to O's lack of interest.

quote:

Nussmeir stayed at LSU. Remained loyal to LSU.

Nuss entered the portal, didn't play in the bowl game, and was talked into returning by Kelly.

quote:

Has been let down by playcalling and poor O line play at LSU.

He has mostly been let down by his poor decision-making and skittishness in the pocket, though I am not sure if he may have an undisclosed injury because his deep passes have been much less accurate after the first handful of games.

quote:

est facilities. Best fans. Best local talent. Sub-par leadership from the Head Coach.

That describes the end of O's era perfectly.

it’s still amazes me how many people think 2019 was the “real coach O” and the entire rest of his career was the anomaly.

You seriously can't be this dumb.

You can't be this stupid to think we only had a total of 38 scholarship players. Yet, here we are.

Here we go again, blaming North Louisiana. More LSU loyalty in north LA than a lot of the state. Lafayette ring a bell?

Imo, the thing Coach O deserves the most credit for at LSU aside from the 2019 season is that he took ownership of his own demise.

Now, there is no doubt that Covid played a role in taking away what otherwise would have been an LSU victory tour in 2020 and probably sped up his demise. But ultimately, it was on Coach O.

Forget all the purported bullshite other than what happened with the player revolt during Covid.

O and LSU was a victim of their own success.

O was a clown who Forest Gumped his way into a championship. I love his accent and his passion...but he was a clown

Lanning was hired the same year as Kelly. Oregon got him on the cheap because he was unproven. Those kinds of hires usually don’t work out. Now that he’s proven, Oregon has the resources to hold on to him. LSU wouldn’t have pried him away. Who else you got? What up and comer do you think LSU should go get? Cignetti? His track record reads like a poor man’s Brian Kelly. Kiffin? He’s had a pretty good two years but still not competed for the SEC title while mortgaging the future. Anyone else you might want to go after has only had success at a lower level just like Kelly.

The only thing that was common knowledge was that only 38 scholarship players chose to dress for the bowl game.

Orgeron didn’t have shite to do with that team. He was just in the right place at the right time to clap his hands like the moronic piece of shite that he is. 2020 and 2021 proved that abundantly.

Aranda and Ensminger could have been in charge with the HC position vacant and LSU would have still been undefeated NCs.

Quit making idiotic posts.

Nice crawfish. You do it if it's important to you. I simply pointed out your error. Why don't you also look up how many players BK inherited who were drafted.
