I don’t agree with doing that as a fan, but I also didn’t think that was worth getting upset over.
This is a fair point. Could be the combination of all of this.

there are two different facets of recruiting.
1 is knowing who to even go after.
O had never even heard of Burrow. Busch knew him and his family from their time together at tOSU.
Busch is the one who told O to go get him.
the other facet is the sitting down and talking to the player, which O absolutely excels at.
Joe gives O all the credit in the world for that meeting because, well that's what got him here.
But without Busch setting that up, O never even offers Burrow and that meeting never takes place.
Edit to add:
Busch was brought here by Aranda, and may very well have still came here with a HC other than O. And may very well have gotten the other coach to pursue and possibly land Burrow.
And considering the only other real option Burrow had was Cincinnati, it's absolutely believable that he still would have come here with a different coach.
but that's impossible to know what would have happened.
but to say that O was the only person on the planet that could have gotten him here is being a bit shortsighted.

I may get downvoted to hell but I feel like that’s pretty soft of O. The guy was clearly joking the way college football fans do. It’s one thing if the guy was being a dick but he wasn’t.

He built that 2019 Team. He personally recruited many of the best players.

It was literally and Cincinnati.
Once again- no Ed Orgeron means no Joe Burrow. This is a fact, not an opinion.
