I think on our RB group will have well over 1000 yards. Probably close to 2000 total.

But no single RB will be close. It will RB committee The leader will have 5-600

I imagine something similar to 2011 rb committee with Ware, Ford, Blue, Hilliard.
Each of those guys had 7 or 8 TDs.
It was a helluva rotation.
I wouldn’t expect those numbers with how many we have but I bet they roll with the committee approach

I don’t see it. Wouldn’t complain if we did!

I’d love to see it, because thus far, he’s been Richard Murphy.

Almost as good as having a 999 yard rusher

The chances look slim right now, but that’s mostly because we have so many backs that don’t seem to have a lot of separation between them. If we have great balance between 3-4 guys with well-defined roles, that would be good enough for this team to reach its goals.

That said, I thought the same in 2003 and then Justin Vincent got a shot and just blew up. Sometimes that happens when you least expect it.

There is going to be a running back by committee so I highly doubt that we are going to have a single 1,000 yd rusher this year. Next year it would not shock me to see one break out.

With Daniels he probably will.
Running back wise I don’t think so.
8 guys that can play at that position.

means someone has risen above the other rb's to establish himself as the bell cow. would love this. especially because we'd have a couple guys behind him who could substitute and give quality time.

There's so much talent there. It may be too much to ask, but I sure hope all of them stay healthy.

It would be great if John Emery could do it, since this is his last hurrah in college.

Cain certainly accomplished a lot at Penn State and has a valuable year of experience here, so there's always an outside chance.

But we'll see.

I agree with the consensus. Not going to see a 1K running back. Too many bodies with similar skill sets.

Kelly/Denbrock seems to have found their "guy" when they grabbed Diggs out of the portal. Williams is as reliable a player as LSU has. Emery will play a similar role as he did last year. I think Cain slides in for Diggs or Williams if/when either of them gets dinged up.

Bradford and Goodwin look like they're the odd men out at the moment. I'm surprised that Goodwin did not transfer out this off-season.

I don't think we'll see much of the freshmen outside of mop up or special teams.

If we can open up the middle of the field in the passing game, it changes our run game dramatically. This Oline has the potential to be great, but we need to help them out. Hopefully our tight ends, outside of Mason, step up. Which, from all accounts sounds promising. We shall see soon.

Slim

Only 4 SEC players last season rushed for 1000+ yards. Not so coincidentally, those 4 also lead the league in carries. The fewest number of carries any of that group had was 196.

To put that in perspective, Josh Williams led all LSU RBs in carries last season with 97. With a deep backfield in terms of numbers and a QB who is likely to "carry" the ball over 100 times (even if the play call isn't a designed run) it is very hard to see any LSU RB having enough opportunities to reach 1000 yards.

To be fair 2007 & 2011 didn’t have 1,000 yard rushers and JV barely got a 1,000 in 2003. Those were all good rushing teams too
