The way through this is plain to see. 2 choices. maybe more
1 Earn more by changing jobs that pay higher wages, longer hours or even work a job you barely can stand for the pay till you find something better.
2. Do without, cut out as much you can, food, housing, transportation and entertain yourself with the free, library, free music festivals, public parks etc.
Others have done it. It gets really hard when you get resentful that you can't afford all the fun you want.

My family is divided on political choices too. We discuss politics sometimes but avoid too long a discussion because it will get HOT.
We base our choices on our own personal beliefs. It is normal that there be divisions in families about a whole host of topics.
I have a brother who I agree with on most political policy, but sometimes he will take it too far and begin telling others they are wrong.
No matter which side, the first to start throwing out the words "you're wrong" sets up real divisions.
