Will they play their games at Indy Stadium? Haven’t been there in a long time but is that area around the stadium any better than 15-20 years ago?

Nope it’s worse. Greenwood rd, jewella ave, and Mansfield rd area is one of the worst areas in Shreveport. Only cedar grove is worse and maybe grimmett drive or pines rd areas.

course it's only right large cities like Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and even Lafayette have college football teams. Has anyone ever wondered why smaller cities like Monroe, Grambling, Ruston, Natchitoches, Lake Charles, Thibodaux, and Hammond do as well but a city the size of Shreveport and Bossier City combined does not? If anyone knows the actual reason I'd like to know.

Umm- because they don’t have a college/university with the size and resources to pull it off? LSU-S and SU-S aren’t going to field a real football team. Weird question.

This thread reminds me of the display The University of Chicago has in their athletic building about being 4-0 all-time against Notre Dame. It's right next to Jay Berwanger's Heisman.

Who are they going to play? I take it ETBU, Millsaps, Sewanee, and so forth?

UChicago was briefly in the SAA a few years ago, and played Sewanee at home. Among the dozens of nerds in attendance, I was probably the only one who appreciated it would've been a gargantuan matchup in 1902.

The one place I had both baseball and basketball offers out of high school. Didn’t know they were anything way back when.

MLB pitcher BJ Ryan actually played at Centenary his freshman and sophomore years but transferred to ULL after that.

I knew a guy who played at Centenary in the 1930s. Dropped out after his Junior year to go home and run the family business.

He did that until selling out & retiring in the mid 1990s.

Died after Katrina.

Good dude. A Gent.

Well my graduating class at Caddo Magnet HS had about 60 people go to Centenary. Which, based on their total enrollment is about half of the student body.

My high school math teacher was an All-American lineman at Centenary. He got drafted by the Bronko Nagurski-led Chicago Bears. Way back then, there was more money in teaching than professional football, so he chose the former.

When he brought his yearbook and newspaper clippings to class, my mind was blown to learn Centenary had been an SEC-level national football power.

That may not be far off from the market value of season tickets for Centenary’s next football season.

Because the existence of a college football program has absolutely nothing to do with the size of the citify in which the college is located.

Are they the only instate team with a winning record against LSU? If so, I would market the hell out of that in their promotions to get sponsors and people in the seats.
