Damn. At least from a short distance, Ack and Coop are identical twins.

Why is ccSU throwing a starter in relief of a 8-0 game?

I mean, they kinda threw a lot after a 26 run game and two others previously in two days.

I could see this being a good role for Shores for now. Eat up innings in games where we are trailing and try to keep it close until the bats come alive.

The way they talked about Collins, I don’t think that was going to be his role, eating up innings while we’re trailing. I think it was to come in in high leverage middle inning situations in games we’re either winning or close and shutting the other team down for a couple of innings and handing it off to the back of the pen.

More of a hold-role than simply eating innings when we’re down. Jay was really high on Collins every time he was asked about the bullpen. He was one of the 1st couple of guys he mentioned after the starters. Said he added velo, had great command, and apparently pitched really well in the fall and spring. Said after his work with Johnson, was probably the most improved pitcher on the staff.

They expected to be able to count on him to have a very valuable weekend role on this team. And with Taylor out, we really need Collins to figure it out to maintain that great bullpen depth we expected to have coming into the season. I think they expected to really be able to count on those 2 guys.

That's a ridiculous interference call.

Still, Jones is not seeing the ball at all.

Man, has Lsu faced an abnormally high amount of left handed pitching this year or does it just seem like that? Is there a stat on that somewhere?
