Pure drivel.

If the ADs didn't believe the negative recruiting angle wasn't true they wouldn't feel the need to extend. The proof is in black and white on the contract extensions.

I don't care what anyone believes. I'm discussing how things actually function.

So extend it for two years (if it ends in 2021, extend it to 2023). That's the desired "4-yr. contract," right? And I say this as not a big Orgeron fan, as I believe I've made known. But I want the team to succeed, so that means I want him to succeed.

He needs to bring in a top-flight, elite OC, as he PROMISED he would do, however.

It makes me sick to my stomach how people are here. I guess the internet brings out the worst in people. It's probably more that they were sorry all along. I will say this, the poliboard has been good to me. I can't post much over there anymore.

Why, because you were abusive to people there, even though they were nice to you?

If you have to know. It's because I'm on chemo and other meds that fog up my brain. I don't feel comfortable discussing things over there now. I don't mind coming over here where the average IQ is 50 points lower plus I despise the typical poster here.

Until he delivers what he promised in his binders, no extension should be given.

You hire a guy to manage your organization after firing the last guy for mediocre results. You are looking to improve and he promises he will. You hire him for 5 years on contract. After 2 years you don't see any improvement in the results but get asked about extending the contract.

Any one that would grant an extension under that scenario would be killed in the business world.

No contract extension until the binders deliver!!!!

Alleva needs to be arrested if there's any significant changes to Orgeron's contract.

Extend him all you want but that buyout figure needs to remain manageable if he disappoints next season.

Let's be honest. Most of these recruits don't understand contractual complexities.

Exactly, all most can understand or care about is that head coach has a contract that last pasts their graduation date.

Because his contract ends at the end of 2019 I believe(?) There’s really no harm in extending him as long as you keep the buyout low and can fire him at any time.

Nah, most of the big time recruits don't see themselves being here for graduation.

It would not make me comfortable committing to a school/head coach is doesn't even have a contract there to see me graduate.

I thought the Orgeron experiment was all about the coordinators.

Don't be an idiot. You don't think the recruiting coordinator has some input who is recruited?

Before o was named the head coach.

"o didn't have no input on who was recruited. That was all on Miles."

After o was named the head coach.

"o only offered him a scholarship because coach (insert name here) recommended him."

Same goes for coaches. Canada being the perfect example.

Bottome line is, nothing is o's fault. Ever!

Coach O signed a 5 year deal worth $3.5 mill per with a number of incentives.

Those years were set to be -
2017
2018
2019
2020
2021

This means he has 3 years left on his deal.

Go take a look at USA Today and see what Head Coaches in the SEC are making these days. Coach O is the near the bottom.

I'm all for adding 2 years at $4 to $4.5 mill per, to his current contract.

I will say this too, an extension now won't cost us all that much. He's done well but we haven't won anything yet.

If he wins more games next year or heaven forbid, gets us to Atlanta, or the playoffs, the extension may cost LSU much more money.
