I feel like the number 7 puts too much pressure on a kid

Those “kids” are now making good money. And they’re playing to get drafted to the NFL. They have 10s of millions of dollars at stake if they play really well. Their jersey number isn’t that much pressure

LSU will retire jerseys but not numbers. Number 20 is retired. The equipment staff have not given out #9 since Joe Burrow left. They also have not given out #5. Jerseys 21 Stovall and 37 Casanova have been retired but the numbers are still worn in football.
Things are different in basketball and baseball but there are far less players.

7 needs to go back into regular circulation.

You know who wears single digit numbers… freakish athletes.

You know who gets freakish athletes….. LSU.

A good player will normally get that number and play well in it, don’t need to make a big deal of it.

Had Orgeron’s sidekick tweet at me because I made fun of that situation because he chose Giles and that’s when I knew it needed to end.

The #7 tradition has become a curse. It seems like whoever wears it either underperforms, suffers an injury, or eventually opts out. We need to move on from it entirely and focus solely on the #18 tradition, which actually represents the selfless leadership LSU needs.

You could just ignore it and cheer for whomever wears that number.

I think the 7 and 18 bit has run its course. It is supposed to be an honor (and it is) but in recent years it has become a jinx.

It’s the “What’s your favorite LSU related blah blah blah” threads that bore the sh!t out of me. They signal the start of summer every year.

But I guess they pass the time as well as give the old farts an opportunity to show off some obscure LSU thing they know about.

Just stupid. You want to get rid of #7 but keep #18.

I saw some clip about Bert Jones' number 7 being retired this year. You never know what is true anymore. does anyone know? If true, that should take care of anyone getting that number ever again.

It’s more of a ring of honor that we do. Not a full retirement of anyone wearing the number.

Billy cannon and Cassanova have the same thing.

Joe and Jayden will be next.

Shut up already. You couldn't comment this bs on the million other threads started about it? The players like it and thats all that matters.
