Can we get rid of the number 7 tradition

I may get downvoted or bashed for this, but I really would not be mad if Lane got rid of the number 7 tradition. I feel like the number 7 puts too much pressure on a kid to go out and make plays and act like the most impactful player....similar to the madden curse.
I am cool with the number 18 tradition since it is about being a selfless player and putting the team first. That's the definition of a true leader.
But let's quit awarding number 7 to the "best" guy

I saw some clip about Bert Jones' number 7 being retired this year. You never know what is true anymore. does anyone know? If true, that should take care of anyone getting that number ever again.

It’s not our tradition-if it doesn’t mean anything to the players, they’ll end it. Don’t see that happening because it’s usually talked about in broadcasts.
