I love the John Brady revisionist history that floats around on this board. He followed up a Sweet 16 appearance in 2000 with four consecutive seasons of 8-8 or worse in the SEC. After he got LSU to the Final Four, LSU lost 17 of its next 23 SEC games over a 1 1/2-year span, which led to his firing.

He was a terrible offensive coach and he was terrible in PR. For every good team he had at LSU, he had a mediocre or bad team to match.

With all of that said he’s still better than Wade (at this point), Jones, and Trent Johnson

Yeah my sauce was Tasmin mitchell’s “Mentor” while he was at lsu that Brady quit after the final 4. I still think in hindsight LSU is never in a position to fire a coach one year removed from a final 4

Wasn't his hand forced because it was going to come out that she was sleeping with a player or something like that?

You really think LSU could do something about this?

He most likely would not be at Alabama if Skip could have delayed the apparent inevitable for a few years.

He could have hired the South Carolina coach but opted to hire an old white dude who just golfs all day

Sure, Brady was such a great coach that the only school who would hire him after the LSU firing was Arkansas State. At first, the Sun Belt touted Brady as a marquee coach who had been to the Final Four. Then, his teams never made the NCAA or NIT in the eight seasons he was there. Remember UCLA routing LSU in the 2006 Final Four? That was the last postseason game Brady ever coached.

Brady was hated for many reasons which clouded judgement on the actual coaching ability. Taking us from probation to a Final Four is an achievement that nobody will recreate again.

Yeah but.... millions of excuses

The new Box is one of the ugliest stadiums I’ve ever seen. I remain shocked that design was approved.

But was he? 3 above .500 SEC seasons in 11 years isn't great at all. Or his 74–93 SEC record. He wasn't a good coach.

When he had players he was great. It was rare that he had more than a handful of players. Also the first few seasons can largely be thrown out of the conversation because of the NCAA sanctions.

Seems like a lot of folks on this board might owe tiger20 a big apology.

Compare the results under ?Brady while dealing with draconian sanctions to the 10 years since he was fired with no encumberances. Take away the 2009 season which Trent coached withhis recruits and the Tigers have one first round loss on their NCAA resume.

"I'm not going to get into a bidding war with the Dolphins over Nick Saban." I distinctly remember that quote like it was yesterday.

You know you can't outbid Wayne Huizenga, but at least up the ante and make Saban an offer to stay. He did nothing; just ran away like Alleva did with Herman.

It’s incredibly awful. It’s an eye sore.
