Truly does not make sense. I think Kiffin panicked.

It was a desperate move because our punter sucks dick and baker was busy collapsing.

Our punter can’t punt it 40 yards without making the punt returnable

We should have went for the fourth 1 instead of getting a delay and punting

Desperation Ole Miss move. I guess he doesn’t realize that our D can indeed come up with stops. This game should always be a 27-24, 28-24, 20-17 outcome. Lane cracked under pressure. Took away 9 points from LSU when you just simply kick FG’s In this game.

Leavitt just falling down was incredible. I couldn’t believe what I was watching.

They were going to score an easy TD whether we punted or gave them the ball. Everyone in the stadium knew it.

The only chance was a first down.

Yeah the only thing I can think of is it was just a massive ill advised overreaction to the punt return on the previous drive.

Just kind of a foot stomping call out of frustration imo, but totally inexcusable really.

He needs to own that and move on. We don’t have a great punter but there are times we’re just going to have to send him out there and hope for the best.

For an analytics guy no way the percentages ever dictate going for it there no matter what the punter looks like.

It was such a brain dead play by Sam

He had moments this game where he looked good and then just some wtf.

Our special teams had a banner day missing field goal, dumb penalties to pin us back, inability to punt worth a frick.

Special teams coach needs to be fired, I’d pull the entire special teams in and fire him in front of them. So they could see what their shite play did.

We left 9 points off the board by not kicking chip shot field goals.

We should just play the game without kicking anything but kickoffs.

It’s crazy how awful our ST’s are. And have been for years on end.

This. I hated the call, but the alternative was likely worse. If we punt and they return it into our territory, everyone is screaming that Lane is a pussy.

The last punt Chadwick punted was a line drive piece of trash that allowed a huge return, same as Kentucky. So our option is try to punt it 40 yards but it’s going to be returnable or a maybe 30 yard punt.

So bama gets the ball on our side of the 50 no matter what.

We knew our special teams would probably cost us a big game, you just can’t operate with not having the ability to flip the field.

I think the ideal calls would have been use shitty Chadwick from about the 40, he can punt it 30 yards we pin them, they likely don’t drive the field on us at that point.

Then take the points twice before the half instead of what we did.

Payback for the negative comments about not going for it on 4 and 1 in the Kentucky game.

Pretty sure he heard the Rant, and this game, made sure we couldn't rib him for not going for it on a 4th down.

Typical. Don't go for it when should have, and going for it when shouldn't have.

I understand kiffin's explanation I just don't think I would have done that right there. 4th and 1 or 2 maybe. 4th and 10, the odds are too low. But if you put and stop then you get the ball back with 5 - 6 minutes left. We haven't been able to hit any big shots all game because of the coverage Bama had been playing because of the coverage they have been playing it would have been even more pronounced in that situation. So I understand why he did it. Me I would have punted because of the area of the field and down and distance.

bama gets the ball 25 yards further back maybe 30 but also had a real good chance of housing it.

Our punter has zero chance of booming a 50 plus yarder with hang time to allow us to get down.

Now our oline had decided to be complete dog shite by that point so maybe that was the better option

The time to go for it was the drive before since it was 4th and a long one.

The situation was dire either way especially considering our punter and how we had just played the last one.
