quote:as cool it would be for Thomas to play along opposite of Chase, they need more O-Line Help, because the money they’ve spent in the trenches hasn’t worked. Your Franchise QB is way more valuable than a WR who you could draft in the middle rounds that would give you similar production.
Buddy, you realize Tee Higgins is likely moving on?

Go to the Saints board with this. They'll downvote you to oblivion. Payton left his legacy on those baws on hating LSU players

He would be perfect for Buffalo, but he'll be off the board by then.

I think you pay for a couple of proven vets that are solid, but not demanding elite OL type money, and then draft BTJ.
I feel like a WR being good is a better bet in the draft than an OL and can contribute at a high level sooner. But what do I know.

I was thinking how much of a difference maker he could be in Buffalo - perhaps helping them get over the hump.

The Bengals absolutely need OL help. But I don't think they will reach for OL out of need if they don't have a guy available they really like over players at other positions they do. Burrow just got a big contract. They know Chase is in line for one soon. They would like to keep Higgins, but I'm sure he wants a big deal too. The realities of the NFL are that you have to be selective with who you give the big contracts to. That means you have to be able to "hit" on guys that can give big production on cheap, rookie deals.
Then you throw in the fact the Bengals probably have a pretty high opinion of LSU players at the moment. Just like the Saints with Ohio State and Philly with Georgia, sometimes a franchise feels a bit more trust with players from a certain school. Given the last two LSU players selected by the Bengals in the first round were MASSIVE hits, I wouldn't be shocked to see them go back to the well. It's not like they don't want Higgins. They just can't pay him as much as others. BTJ could be that cheap replacement.

He's been moving up a lot recently. I've seen him taken in the top 15 of every mock draft the past couple of weeks. While it's great for him to get more money early, I thought going to a place like KC or the Bills would be great for his career. Now I'm just hoping he lands with a competent QB.
6'4 205 with sub 4.45 speed and hops. Big body and great on contested catches, tracks the ball at an elite level, and can play outside and inside.

I'm hoping the jags or the bengals get him. The Jags only real weapon is Kirk at WR . I think thomas would light it up with lawerence at QB.

Yep, consistently WR4, only behind MHJ, Malik Nabers, & Rome Odunze. He has passed up Keon Coleman, who used to be WR3/WR4 in earlier mocks.
BTJ will no doubt cement his place with a good combine/pro day.

I think CEH is a free agent after this season also. Maybe the Bengals could scoop him up..
Perhaps the bengals should draft or sign every LSU player available.

One of the things I see about BTJ is he is still getting better, where Nabers and Harrison are more finished products at this point. I'm sure in high school he was able to get by on his size and talent, which caused him to struggle early in his career at LSU. He greatly improved this last season and still has considerable upside as he improves his route running.

The Bengals aren't taking a WR in the 1st.
Depends on who is there when they pick. They are probably losing their #2 and #3 WR to FA. DT is a need for them as well. They are going to spend money in FA. If they get a DL or 2 in FA a WR is probably going to be the selection on the 1st rd.

He’s not moving up draft boards because they are getting no new information. What you are seeing is dopey media types listing him higher as they learn more about where the real pros have had him all along.

As much as I love what CEH did for LSU his NFL career could be short-lived / He's not an RB1 and on the Chiefs isn't he RB3? / His next contact will be a cheap "prove-it" deal

This. Wait until they see his “hops” at the combine. If his cone time is really good, you bet your arse he will be in the top 10.

Prediction
BTJ will ultimately ..may take a couple of seasons....be the most valuable pick in this draft based on where he is taken.

Bengals still need O-Linemen BAD. It would be a reasonable argument that they should have drafted Penei Sewell instead of Jamarr.
Yes, but the Bengals are a year too early in need. LSU has a chance to have 4 OL drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft!

No offense but I never really understand why people believe in players moving up or down a draft board. Where they end up getting picked is where they end up getting picked by the teams. What a bunch of sports writers project has nothing to do with them going up or down unless we're just talking about what a bunch of sports writers think.
I always think it's funny on draft day when somebody gets picked in the late first round who was projected to go in the early part of the first round and all the prognosticators tried to fix their mistake by saying he fell at the last minute. No man. You were just wrong

BTJ is the complete package.
I expect him to make whatever NFL team that drafts him very happy. Selfishly I would like for him to go to the Bengals but he will fit right in to any team that picks him.

I said he has 1st round skills right after the bowl game, and people DV'd me.
He's going to be a beast in the league.
