Considering he just went into the portal not long ago, I think we know Brennan is not hesitant to transfer.
How hesitant is he now that he knows Southern Miss is his best offer? No one outside of this board is impressed with those three games throwing against air.

Except for the fact Myles had more TD passes in 3 games than Daniels had in one complete year.....
He fricking played Vandy, Mizzou, and Miss State
Also only had a 60% completion percentage against those powerhouse defenses and had to throw it like 50 times per game to even achieve those stats.

Do you remember the Drew Brees that was there when Jameis showed up?

and still could throw a football better than any QB on the Saints roster when he got there

May the best player win the job

I don’t know what kind of offers he would have at this point. Again, that’s more speculation. But I think if someone like Southern Miss offers him, then you go. Of course if he doesn’t win the job here.
If he doesn’t have any offers, then it doesn’t really matter. He won’t see the field here anyway and would likely be third string. I really don’t think that’s the case.

BK has a professional responsibility to act in the best interest of the team. BK is doing his job. I hope MB wins the job and has great year, but if MB loses the job to JD he needs to stick around and be ready because he’s only one injury away and JD looks slight of build. Also, let’s not forget the GOAT was a backup at Michigan

You keep saying this like Jayden Daniels never played a shitty team.
Southern Utah 1-10
UNLV 2-10
Colorado 4-8
Stanford 3-9
USC 4-8
Washington 4-8
Arizona 1-11
Then a couple that broke even and really only BYU, Wisconsin, and Utah were good teams.
With that schedule youd think his stats would have been better even with subpar team.

I would not be surprised at all if he’s the starter game 1 and balls out next year.
I actually expect it.

I almost expect a tight battle at QB and when the chains stop moving BK makes a change.

No he didn't. Pretty sure he came to either start right away or sit and use his redshirt year at a major program in a major conference learning from the head coach with the 3rd most active wins and coordinator that just developed a QB who is basically his clone to a possible first round selection. Then still have 2 years to do wtf he wants next off season. Sound familiar?

Brody really went out on a limb there

I agree, why would anyone “guarantee” a player the starting job without seeing them try to execute the offense? A person can definitely become a different player in a different offensive system but 32-13 over 3 years is pretty damn average and unimpressive to me. May the best player win the job.

If true, that really sucks for Brennan. I don't fault BK for bringing in another QB, but damn...
I feel like brennan will stay and compete.

quote:I really wanted Brennan to start this year (and last year and 2020 shite), but Brennan would have to be elite at passing to be the starter over Daniels.
Don’t count Brennan out.. I would not be surprised at all if he’s the starter game 1 and balls out next year.
People have to realize that Daniels's mobility already rockets him up before we even start a competition. They are running a whole new playbook, and have put emphasis (in talks recently), on playing physical football. Brennan has 3 starts, Daniels has 29, the experience is also another HUGE gap. Daniels is coming in the spring unlike Burrow who came in the fall, again, they are starting at the same line as far as grasping the offense. Daniels has ran a shite ton and has ran the read option and throws an incredible deep ball. Denbrock is used to that with Ridder over the last 4 years.
If you really think about it and be true to yourself, as long as Daniels learns the playbook and is at least decently accurate at short and intermediate throws, he wins the job.

Not sure about who is leading what at this point. But this is an entire new staff and program basically. EVERYONE is a transfer. Their are no loyalties. Shouldn’t be anyway.

It’s bizarre to me that people are bummed for Brennan. As if they already know he will be beat out. If that’s the case, bring it on.
And I agree with everyone that is rooting for the guy, he obviously wants to be a tiger. But if we don’t think he can win the battle with a kid from ASU, what does that say about our confidence in him?

A 3 year starter at another power conf. school doesn't transfer to a school without some degree of assurances he will start next season. Otherwise, he would have gone elsewhere (I'm sure LSU wasn't the only school "recruiting" him). Perhaps it lights a fire under Brennan and he shows he is clearly the best QB of the 4 in spring ball. But just like LSU did not get Burrow simply for "depth". I don't think they went out and signed Dainels for "depth" either.
FTR, I'm not "pulling" for any one guy. Just play the guy that gives you the best chance to win.
2 totally different situations
They didn't really go out looking for daniels. If that was the case they would've been looking a lot sooner.
He kind of feel in their lap. As far as burrow they went out and got him cause they had no better option. Burrow will tell you he wasn't promised the starting job either.

sign Tua (despite Brennan being a long time commit). 2018, Brennan leaves spring ball as the likely starter...LSU then signs a LESS experienced QB (Burrow) to come in and immediately start. I'm convinced that even if Brennan weren't injured befor
How was brennan more experienced than burrow?
