Honestly I don't think Brennan even waits all that long to enter the portal. A 3 year starter at another P5 school doesn't transfer for the CHANCE to be a starter. The writing is on the wall.

It sounds like daniels contacted lsu and they took his commitment.

I think daniels is fine coming here and fighting for the spot. He didn't have many top schools beating his door down.

Out of a the shite posts I’ve seen the last few days regarding this situation, the first racism call out is actually for reverse racism for saying Myles Brennan was beat out by Justin McMillan. Cool cool cool TD

Do we even know who else wanted him?

I know Bama offered him in high school.

Since we don’t know who else was eying him, it’s not really fair to say who was or was not “beating down his door”.

So I would imagine very high on his list of priorities was a place he could likely come in and play immediately.

No good coach ever promised a kid to come nn and start at qb. It's always a competition.

What if he comes here and shits the bed? What if brennan beats him out?

It just doesn't work like that.

Moscona had a beat writer for ASU on yesterday. I think she covered Daniela back in high school, too. A few things I remember:

—the reporter really likes Daniels as a human being

—he is soft-spoken, not very “rah, rah” and will lead more by example

—his mom is VERY involved. They joked she must have had a key to the building.
But it didn’t sound like the reporter thought the mom was as terrible as most of us and everybody else who’s been around these type parents assumed. I guess his dad’s not in the picture, so Mom had to step up and play a few roles

—He was the 2nd DT QB and #35 overall prospect in his class.

—He has really good arm talent, but not elite accuracy

—Fast as frick and isn’t going to just pick up 3rd and 7s with his legs, dude can
get 30-40 yards down the field quick

—He didn’t come to LSU to not start. At all. I’m not saying Kelly officially promised him anything more than an opportunity, but Daniels and his mom are expecting to start.

—Their original plan was for him to peace out to the NFL after last year, but he had a pretty “meh” year that they blame a lot on the lack of talent at WR. He 1st announced he was going to go back to Tempe, but he waited to see what they were going to do at the WR position. Apparently Daniels (and maybe his mom) didn’t like what ASU did with signing day or the portal, so he left.

—The plan is to play 1 year in Baton Rouge and peace out to the league again.with better coaches to develop him and better WRs to throw it to, they think he’ll have a big year and declare. Which would be a big surprise (to them) if he doesn’t start day 1.

I cannot confirm if any of this is true. Moscona can’t confirm it either. It is simply how the beat writer who’s covered him and the Sun Devils for the last 3-4 years is reading the tea leaves.

Then you’ve got Daniels having only one season with a good team around him and in that one season ,as a freshman , he had probably the best freshman season in pac 12 recent history . That season he had 17 tds to 2 ints and also ran for a lot of yards.
Since then it’s been covid and then this past year they ran him a lot because they had no receivers. He had 700 yards .

I mean they were 8-5 last year.
Y'all are making them out to be horrible. He threw for 10tds and 10 picks.

He only threw for over 200yards 5 times. He is going to have to come in and win the job.

"(Daniels) is not happy with how he’s being utilized to improve his draft grade."

That's what a source supposedly said about arizona state.

What you are saying about the mom and him coming here does ring true.

If he gets brennan to transfer then I'm sure he will win the job.

I liked what i watched of him but that usc game was bad. He was inaccurate. Daniels definitely has tools.

I just hope him and brennan fight it out. What happens if he doesn't win the job?

Brennan needs to nut up and be better than Daniels, it is a simple as that.. Brennan was passing for 300+ yards on SEC teams, he gonna be ok.

The only way Brennan ends up back in the portal is if he never was able to recover his pre-injury 2020 form. It won't be because Jayden Daniels is so good that he can't win the job. This isn't Joe Burrow arriving to campus in spring of 2018.

Brennan would have to have fallen significantly from his September 2020 form if this were true which, if it is, then there's no one to blame here. Have to field a talented and capable QB of winning the SEC

And he has the spring to do that. He can choose to compete in the fall if the competition is still going, but he runs a risk. It’ll be up to him.

What does Brody Miller actually know about the situation ? He is just giving us his opinion and now has no more inside information about the LSU program than you or I! This staff is very tight lipped compared to the previous regime, partly because they dont know much either until they get them on the field in a structured practice.

Brody Miller should just say "I have no idea", but wr live in an era wnere people have to make uninformed statements because that is their job.

I’m rooting for Myles. Kids don’t stay loyal like he has anymore it would be great to see him have a big year in his final season. That being said if I had to put money on it I think Daniels’ mobility ultimately wins out as the new OC prefers a mobile QB.

Myles is the starter until you hear otherwise.

Sounds like Brody is assuming that Myles gets beaten out, and I disagree. I think Myles will beat out Jayden fair and square.

Brennan couldn't beat out Danny Etling. Since that season Brennan has started a whopping 3 games and now he can beat out Daniels who has the skillset to fit the OCs style of play and has started nearly 10 times the games Brennan has?

Makes me wonder why they didn't go after a qb sooner.
