What about the Auburn kid who slammed shin first into the bullpen bench last year? Just because it's not an everyday problem doesn't mean that it can't cause a long term impact.

I didn't want to start a brand new thread for this question, but does anyone know if there's a virtual seating chart for Alex Box Stadium?

I'm taking my family to their first LSU baseball game in May, and I was wanting to see the view from our seats.

TIA

It was outdated the moment it was built. I remember the lighting stanchions were initially wrong because of the shadows created and the empty spaces where the suites would be built after the fact. The design of entire footprint was done that made future improvement’s difficult.

Blame Skip.

Skip's cheap ball park was antiquated the day it opened. The place needs to be rebuilt after the PMAC renovation.

I remember the game where they opened the new Box. Little ceremony in front of the pitcher's mound. Skip got on the mic and said stuff like "We listened to the fans. You wanted a roof. Roofs are expensive, but we built a roof. You wanted the bullpens on the field, just like the old Box. So we did that."

I swear to God I remember him specifically saying he did it because the fans wanted it to be as much like the old Box as possible. Somebody find the video.

Thanks for the link. They didn't have it on there, unfortunately. I think I found a photo that is pretty close, though.

Not sure if you go to many games, but I see your name in the baseball threads a lot. Any recommendations on things I should do for the kids pre-game or post-game? My son really wants to meet some players if they allow that.

With both sets of OF bleachers being "permanent", the only area for 2 bullpens would be on either side of them, out close to center field? That's a healthy jaunt.

So opponents don’t know how to play balls in foul territory due to the bullpens, but our guys practice is with it year around and can navigate it pretty well. Seems like a home field advantage.

Well they’re getting moved sooner rather than later so you might as well get used to it.

Rendon had nothing to do with bullpen
He hurt it on field turf before he made it to bullpen

Get there an hour and a half before 1st pitch and go through main gates behind grandstand to get in. Let your kids go into the outfield bleachers to chase batting practice homers/fouls.

They can get autographs and meet players along the right foul line down by the bullpen/dugout after the team's warmed up and after the game.

Make time to visit the hall of fame under the grandstand and bring them to see Mike the tiger at his cage near Tiger Stadium. If it's a weekday and early enough bring the kiddos to get some "tiger bite" ice cream at the LSU dairy store on campus.

And he had that dumbass baseball that opened up and had the “magic” of the old box.

I remember one of, I think it was a SEC tournament game, in the 90’s where they sold so many tickets they let the fans sit on the field along the 1st and 3rd base lines. Old Alex Box.

Let’s get a running tally of all the LSU players injured due to the bullpens being on the field at the Box since 1984.

When Wrigley Field moved them to the outfield almost ten years ago, that should have been the cue.

There is absolutely no benefit to having the bullpens inside the fence or anywhere near the field of play.
