We are pumped! We can't leave from Lafayette until 1-2PM unfortunately. Where should we park if we leave that late? What should I take him do with the time leading up until kickoff?

I plan on taking him see the tiger, going eat at the student union, and then see the band march down into the stadium. Any other suggestions? Can the kids still run around on the old Indian Mounds?

going eat at the student union

Unless you are going to McDonalds downstairs this is a bad idea. The Union has been taken over by thousands of High School kids. If you are looking for somewhere to eat and get out of the sun for a while with the kid, I would suggest walking to either state or chimes street, there are many options there. City Slice on Chimes street is new and has good pizza. Parking, if you don't mind driving around looking, you can always find something around Uhigh, but it will take you about 45min to get out.

My first game was against Ole Miss around the same age.

All I remember is we stole a handoff and scored.

Enjoy! My first game as a kid in tiger stadium was against ole piss as well. Hopefully the weather is nice and it’s a tiger victory!

Better let him know this isn't the same type of football he's used to in his homeland.

Tell your son “Repeat after me. Geaux to hell, Ole Miss.” Now he’s all set.

Make sure Sonto is familiar with the STTDB chant. He'll need to yell it in about 9 or 10 years. Best to teach them early.

Unfortunately, Indian Mounds are now roped off during game day. Students/Professors claimed they were being destroyed by kids riding down them on cardboard...

My Dad took me to my first game when I was 9. I have been going for 45 years but I will never forget walking into that stadium for the first time.
