Love it. If it is significant to the players, keep it. Otherwise, dump it. It’s a quasi knock off of A&M’s tradition

That tells me BK wants to hit rid of it.
And I agree.

that has been the main issue and problem with it, its not about a popularity contest like choosing team captains, its about guys who exemplify the highest work ethic and dedication to the team as leaders.

he should have said those numbers must be earned and not given out like participation trophies

The 12th Man Tradition at A&M? How exactly?

Oh & like an earlier guy said the #7 tradition was effectively “Killed” when they voted to give it to a transfer WR, Giles, that had the worst hands in the history of WRs. He couldn’t handle the pressure so he gave it up for his old jersey #.

BTW he continued to suck even after shedding the cursed #7 Jersey!!

Get rid of #7 and #18. Who cares. Just win ball games.

Have you actually heard the story behind the 12th man?

That’s how traditions are born. Not just...here, this number’s cool.

SS you can't even find Lockett hall on LSU's campus. Shut up, you Tulane lookin MFer you.

I love 7 and 18. It's an honor and tradition that should continue.
Even if the player doesn't become a star or starter it should be embraced with pride.

NFL/MLB Scouts miss too. It happens.

#13 needs to be added to this. Jontre Kirkland stepped up and showed true leadership.

When I think of number seven, I think of Patrick Peterson And Tyron Matthew. I think number seven should be given to the best defensive back. I think number 18 says it all. A player who has stuck with the program through injuries and any other struggles

I’d hate to get voted to wear a number like 18. A lot of times players like the number they have especially if it’s a number they have worn since childhood. 18 doesn’t look right on an interior lineman either. I’d be willing to bet a ton of players have said don’t stick my name in the hat to wear 18 I’m rolling with my lucky number I’ve worn since peewee football. Fans and scouts have to learn your new number…. no thanks.

18 should be reserved for a senior who sticks around and shows the true heart of lsu

This - and it should be up to the coaches - perhaps allow the team to suggest a slate of candidates.

not care less about #7 anymore

yep - agree. especially if it is not reserved for defense.

A tradition that started with a knucklehead coach and the previous one kept it going. Time to move on. New regime
