Your friendly reminder that the story of Mauck, a National title winning QB randomly “passing down” his jersey to a 2 star freshman fullback months after he declared for the draft is completely fabricated and everyone just goes along with it because it’s a nice story.

I was always under the impression that 18 going from Mauck to Hester was coincidence and then the handing down of the jersey was something they came up with following Hester.

Leaving it up to the team, but all of our overweight fans voice their opinion on the matter.

What else is a message forum for, shithead? Now why would you make such a dumbass post?

7 places an extraordinary amount of pressure on players.

As part of the reboot, do away with these.

They’ve had their day.

Erase them from memory because they played for ousted coaches.

7 needs to die a quick death.

18 can stick around but it needs to be earned by a junior or senior.

It's what recruits want and what player want at the end of the day... So if the best players want 7 he will get it and then we will see and hear all the complaints or the cheers of how great he plays or doesn't

I swear y’all are such babies. 18 & 7 are cool traditions. Kids in HS dream of coming here an wearing 7. Just because Sting got her and Chase opted out doesn’t mean it’s ruined now
please explain how is it crybabies to get rid of an old tired arse tradition that is basically cursed. The last few players who have had 7 have either opted out been injured or just sucked…
That tradition it is water down and worthless now

Every player to wear number 7 hasn’t been “worthy” since we were even aware it was a thing.

If Fournette didn’t break a tackle, unworthy.
Chark dropped a pass, unworthy.
Delpit missed a tackle, unworthy.

The past threads are all there.

It was always “cursed,” it didn’t just become that way.
