Brian Kelly is not closing the door on coaching. The former LSU head football coach said in an interview with Front Office Sports.

"If something, you know, opens up that looks like a good fit for both sides, I won’t close the door on it," Kelly said to FOS. "But on the other hand, I love the work that I’m doing with CBS."

Kelly is now both a game and in-studio college football analyst for CBS. He said he still has a passion for the game, and he gets to experience some of the adrenaline rushes he received from coaching when he goes to a team’s practice during the week and interacts with a program’s coaches and players.

Three Power 4 positions recently came open at Maryland, North Carolina State and Baylor, and Kelly had positive things to say about all three jobs in a separate interview on SiriusXM.

So if he gets hired does that let LSU off of some of the buyout?

Yes, and he’s contractually obligated to say he’s open to coaching jobs.

I've seen Rutgers thrown around if that job opens up

Perfect for him. All he has to do is obtain a Jersey accent.

I could see him doing Maryland. They don't care about winning and would give him room to complain about not having the resources he needs

If he had to choose between those three, Maryland would be the easy choice because of the talent in the DMV area. It's LOADED. That's why James Franklin moved on from Penn State so quickly and accepted the job at Virginia Tech. He can somewhat recruit the talent rich area of the DMV.

Bet he's lying. I'll bet he's only do this because in the LSU contract he's suppose to "look" for work. I'll bet he has no intention to take a HC job anywhere else and will just pilfer what he can from LSU and make it look like he's actually interested.

Brian Kelly is one of the greatest coaches of all time. Any school would be lucky to have him and should pay him in excess of $10M per year.

I am happy to be a character reference for any hiring committee. He deserves a very very very high paying job.

The last time Maryland was relevant, the dad from “Just the 10 of Us” was the head coach. And then Steve Spurrier opened up a bitter can of Orange Bowl whoop arse on him.

Crazy that we were paying $10 million a year for a coach that no one else wants

Yes, but it’s just words. No way he actually goes back. He’s making more not working than taking one of those jobs. But, he is an ego dumb fu€k, so who knows!
