Gotta coach them better”

Look, I’m being very optimistic here as I think Kelly will do good here in time. And this weekend wasn’t a good look for him with some calls and in game crap.

With that said, if I had to guess, when HE says that it’s likely the alternative to “well, we got shite players and shite depth at plenty key positions”.

No I’m not making excuses for him. He does need to coach better. But I think him saying it weekly falls in line with the hidden admitting that we don’t have the horses and he needs to coach better, to which we’d all say “no shite coach”. But I think he will coach better and we’ll be fine when he gets a full roster of LSU type scholarship players.

What other answers are you wanting? Specifically. What can he possibly say to make anybody feel better about a 40-13 asskicking at home?

Be honest, y’all would only be satisfied if you got your pound of flesh with him throwing specific players and coaches under the bus. You want him to say “Why are we bad on special teams? Cause Brian Polian fricking sucks. Terrible hire. I really fricked that one up. Can’t wait to replace him after the season.”

“What’s wrong with the offense? Daniels is arse. Can’t read a defense to save his life. Terrible passer. That’s when he’s not too big a pussy and actually is willing to throw the ball. Of course, Denbrock is not doing him any favors with the scheme or play calling. He’s a dinosaur of an offensive mind, brought a stale system with him here, and is terrible at teaching it. fricked that hire up too. Will be certainly looking to pay him a few million in the off-season not to coach here.”

I get it. These are the answers I was wanting Saturday myself. But 48 hours later and sober, I realize those are not the answers he can give, nor are they the answers he SHOULD give. Because as much as we want them to be to prove ourselves right, they’re not the correct answers either.

I actually felt better after listening to Kelly. He is still very much in control and understands exactly where he is—and the team is—in this process. Which is long-term. And I don’t think the goal is as easy as to win a National Championship. That’s a by-product.

He’s trying to lay down the infrastructure and build the long-lasting championship program that will outlast his own tenure as coach and be a huge part of his lasting legacy, after he’s gone. Similar to what Saban did, but maybe even longer-lasting. I defended Les Miles on here his whole tenure and will continue to do so when necessary—though not nearly as vigorously—but I think I did underestimate just how much—and how long—the benefits of what he sewed in just 5 years here were reaped after he was gone.

I don’t think O killed the program like a lot of people do. He certainly failed to capitalize on having the greatest team in CFB history. But I think he got hosed by some outside the program social stuff (COVID, BLM ‘20 Presidential Election, etc…) that he, quite frankly, was not equipped to handle. It hadn’t ever been on the job description of Head football Coach of LSU on anywhere near that level before. But, unfortunately or not—no matter your personal politics—going forward is likely going to require a mind/personality that can deftly navigate those type of waters and keep the team focused.

I think the combination of losing so many players off that ‘19 team combined with all the social off the field bullshite (and I’m counting the lawsuits, and the accusations against Guice and Les) and just everything kind of exploding into shite in a very short period, finally killed whatever good Saban had built. And it required a hard-reset. Now here we are. And it sucks in the beginning. There will be growing pains. But if Kelly is who most of us think or thought he is, the long-term benefits will be great, and they will still be reaped by coaches even after he’s gone.

Kelly understands the problems. Like Hotcarl stated above , what do you want him to say, throw players under bus like Saban does ??

If Kelly called out one player all of the cry babies on this site would be livid and jumping all over him.

Also, do you want him to give the entire game plan for Florida in the Press conference? LOL

These reporters have got to come up with better questions.

Not a doctor, but didn't realize that there were this many medical tests for dehydration. Not trying to stir up shite, but we sure this isn't something more serious, like a cardio issue such as myocarditis brought on by the COVID jab?

How many tests do you think it takes to determined myocarditis?

That’s a very simple diagnosis. You loony toons can stop worrying about that

They get paid big money to coach football, and know way more than I do… but I sure hope they can brainstorm a way to get a disruptive young player on the field. Maybe that’s asking too much… I don’t know.

Tenn going fast limited LSUs ability to use packages. Perkins isn’t ready to be a every down Mike backer right now. A ton of responsibility in that role. He also can’t play on the edge every down. The Vols personel in combination with their tempo limited what LSU could do on D.

which is probably why we went with scrambling QB and put him in as a pocket passer.

Slow starts here and there happens. But when you start every single game slow, that tells me this coaching staff is not game planning properly. That would definitely explain why the team does better in the 2nd half consistently.

On a positive note, it also shows that this staff has the knowledge to access what needs to be done and implement changes. I just hate that its only AFTER the game starts that they have a clue of how teams are playing them.

Was he so dehydrated he fell and hit his head? Story has some missing details.

There is no excuse not to play Perkins. Kid is too talented. BK completely wrong on that one

considering you deep throated O every time he spoke I don’t see how you could be upset using Os phrases.

He left less than 40 scholarship players and didn't recruit for shite after 2019

One of the major points why he should have never been hired

I lost count after the 30th time you said this. We get it. You notice the similarities to “gotta coach betta”. It’s coach speak yet not factually wrong. You don’t have to post this after every Kelly PC.

And looks like a huge mistake at this point. He leads the SEC in sacks, and was 7/18 (38.8%) on conversions vs TENN

So Woodward panicked after Riley headed west, and just threw a huge contract at a big name.

This guy isn’t any more knowledgeable about football than Les or O.

Brian has forgotten more football than Les and O know combined.
