When Penn State passed on him, any chance at a National title going forward were squashed imho.

In a recent interview, he stated that academics, and helping young men develop and mature are a focus of his.

I don’t think he is built for the NIL era.

So the question is…what is a legit landing spot?

My take, ONLY the service academies would tick off the academic box, while still allowing him to save face.

Army, Navy, and Air Force are viewed with reverence. These are jobs where the prestige isn’t tied to winning a national championship.

Currently, the salary of the head coaches at each is between 1.4 and 2.4 million per year.

If so, I would suggest that 2 - 2.5 million per year is reasonable for Brian Kelly.

That is money that LSU could use.

Otherwise, I just see him collecting checks and working for CBS.

My question to the rant is…are there any other legit landing spots?

He could definitely get a job somewhere. He probably isn’t going to take a coaching job in which he can’t win a championship though.

For the most part…I agree.

That being said, I don’t see those programs taking a chance on him.

That is why I mentioned the service academies.

His landing spot is sitting next to his mailbox waiting for his check to come in.

He's going to do what he has to to keep collecting a fat check from LSU. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Service Academy? Yeah, I don't find that to be a very good fit. They tend to live by a code filled with Hard Work, loyalty, commitment and dedication to your task at hand with great attention to detail along with team first and we win as a team and we fail as a team. Which one of these fits the BK we saw at LSU?

He'll work in broadcasting for free until that LSU money runs out. Not a bad plan.

High tier group of 5 might take a look but I think we all know he pride won’t let him have a conversation. In his mind he’s probably thinking “once bama opens I’ll be the #1 choice”
