I'll bet this is an LSU strategy because it happens every postseason. They'll have a game where nobody understands why they just swing at all the first pitches they get. I'll bet PM tells them to do this as an aggressive strategy hoping they hit gaps to put pressure on the other team. Of course it always bites us in the arse.
LSU has shown good plate discipline for the majority of this season so I don't think it's coincidence. Even in this regional we made all the pitchers work the count so swinging at first pitches makes no sense here.
