People blaming Thompson for the errors should be just as mad at Doughty who allowed the 4th and 5th run on a ground ball to second where he read it so wrong he almost fricked his knee up. We make that play we win 4-3

Doughty is twice the player Thompson is. It’s not just about 1 game.

Or Morgan swinging at a ball in the dirt

That's an appropriate criticism, blame them both.

If Thompson and Travinski make routine plays, we win that game like 4-1

Inning should’ve been over man. It is Thompson’s fault. 2 straight errors on 2 outs and you end up with an ensuing shitshow like what we saw with Doughty

To borrow from football lingo, every ball hit at Thompson is a 50-50 ball.

To be fair he has the same # of errors as Thompson on the season. Or maybe 1 less after last night. But he's a better hitter so I find myself not as angry at him.

Thompson is the worst infielder I have ever seen, Bianca or Crawford should replace him, this guy has no business starting on an LSU Baseball team he is horrible!

Thompson has the worst fielding % in the SEC not out of short stops but of all Sec players. Dead last.
That's why he gets the blame.
You shouldn't have to hold your breath on routine ground balls hit towards him. He needs to be benched his bat is not worth the defensive liability.
Hopefully he gets it together but I said that after Maine and then the Shriner Classic and a few times since then. He has the tools it's in his head

To be fair, we were only given 1 error last night when in reality we had 4+.

Berry
Thompson
Thompson
Doughty

So I wouldn’t put much stock into comparing error counts. Thompson is a horrible fielder.

The scoring is so bad that you can only look at that as an indication. It's true that Doughty is almost as bad as Thompson, but Thompson gets so many more opportunities at SS.

That was a team loss. No individual lost that game last night.
There were times where they played good as a whole.
And other times multiple tigers made head scratching mistakes that gave up the game.
I still can't get over our catcher dropping fastballs that came right down the pipe. And then being lazy trying to snag a ball with knees still in the dirt WITH RUNNERS ON BASE!!!
I hope they get their heads out their behinds tonight and play to their potential for 9 innings.

Does not matter. You can’t put all of the blame on Thompson when Doughty looked completely spastic on those few ground balls that cost LSU runs.

Doughty’s play was poor but LSU should have already been in the dugout when that occurred.

If the pitchers don't strike out batters our chances of winning games like last night are slim. Its a damn shame that all Arkansas had to do to take the lead in the 7th inning was hit grounders to our infielders

Absolute no reason for that guy to be in the everyday starting lineup!

Had Thompson made that play does Doughty have that pressure on him to make something happen?

You most certainly can. If Thompson makes the routine play, we're out of the inning and Cade never has the opportunity to make the bad read.
