I think we can all agree that sitting under the hot sun in Louisiana humidity just sucks.......bad.

Toats. Nothing says “I’m the authority” quite like a guy with the handle “BootyFett69”

It gets dark at 5:30. Games last 6 hours?

This is about #87 on my list of things to get mad about.

For starters, whole second half will be at night.
Not sure if you understand time.

LSU plays at night when at home.
We still play the majority of our home games at night
If you go to every game, great. I don’t think anyone really misses having to watch the lowkey games on tigervision just so we could enjoy a night game.
Outside of 2022 our home night games vs bama haven’t really worked in our favor
It’s not like it’s early September either. Weather for next weekend should be perfect.

So what is the tiger fan purity test you judge everyone by, so we may all know how we measure up?

I mean I don’t think it affects the outcome, but people treat LSU games differently. It’s about the whole day and seeing family and friends that you might only see for the few home games we have. So this cuts that short.

I still miss the CBS intro for those 2:30 games.
I don't mind the 2:30pm games in November. Noon and pre-noon games are unaccpetable regardless of the time of year.
I didnt hate Verne and Gary that much.

Morning, Afternoon, Night
Don’t matter.

Tradition, baw, tradition:
LSU began playing home night games at Tiger Stadium in October 1931 against Spring Hill College.
Key Historical Reasons
• Beating the Heat: The oppressive Louisiana humidity and high daytime temperatures made afternoon games uncomfortable and potentially dangerous for players and fans.
• Blue-Collar & Agricultural Schedules: Athletic manager Skipper Heard introduced lights in 1931 so local blue-collar workers, sugarcane farmers, and oil-rig employees finishing evening shifts could actually attend games.
• Competitive Advantage & Lore: The Tigers developed a massive historical advantage and distinct home-field mystique under the lights.
• Broadcasting & Network Priority: Modern television networks (like ESPN and ABC) lean heavily into LSU's primetime brand because night games in "Death Valley" routinely pull high viewership and deliver a high-energy spectacle.

My comment was gonna be “using the word casual exposes you as a bitch”
But glad to see the first reply more or less beat me to it
ETA: FTR I don’t mind a 2:30 kickoff this time of year & will be all eyes on our game

What is the opposite of casual? Would that be professional?
Would that be cocktail attire? what?

So you think halftime of a 2:30 game will end at 5:45?
Just to affirm what day yay is saying. Sunset is 5:12 which means it will be dark at 5:45 /6:00
It will be daylight at halftime unless there’s a lightning delay!
Posted on 10/28/26 at 6:05 pm to BootyFett69
Um you must be 90 years old if you think a 230 kickoff means the entire 2nd half will be played at night. They will kickoff the 2nd half around 415-430. The game will be over by 7pm.

Damn two whole games? Welp, there it is let’s move the game to 230 permanently.

It’s not about what time because our team will play anybody, anywhere, anytime and skull drag their arse. It’s about that woke arse Sankey trying to screw LSU because of Jeff Landry, Rousse, Wade and Big Balls Kiffin. UT vs Kentucky ratings will be half of what LSU vs Bama would be at night. It’s not a coincidence that Tennessee got that slot assigned by the conference with the woke arse chick President who was pushing to throw LSU out of the SEC.
