2-0 playing afternoon games against Bama both home and away since I’ve been watching
The irony isn’t lost on me.

You’ve only been watching since 2010? You must be a casual

Broadcasting & Network Priority: Modern television networks (like ESPN and ABC) lean heavily into LSU's primetime brand because night games in "Death Valley" routinely pull high viewership and deliver a high-energy spectacle.
Since the Disney takeover, LSU has had it's highest % of home night games since the 30s.
Shouldn't the Mouse be getting a Christmas card instead of grief over placing LSU in the traditional SEC prime slot at 2:30?

The Historical Media Timeline & Trend Analysis
1931–1983: The Pre-Television Era (Night Share: ~85% | Win Rate: ~74%)
LSU holds absolute autonomy over its home slate. Games are deliberately scheduled after 6:00 PM local time to counter Louisiana’s heavy heat and cater to local industries. Winning percentages remain consistently high because the severe home-field advantage is fully preserved.
1984–1995: The CFA & Early Cable Era (Night Share: ~75% | Win Rate: ~71%)
Following the 1984 Supreme Court ruling (NCAA v. Board of Regents of the University of Oklahoma), individual conferences gain the right to sell their own television packages. For the first time, regional broadcast networks begin forcing select marquee matchups out of the night window and into daytime slots.
1996–2023: The SEC on CBS Era (Night Share: ~65% | Win Rate: ~75% / Day Rate: ~.488)
CBS acquires exclusive rights to the premier weekly SEC game. Because network contracts lock the "Game of the Week" into a fixed 3:30 PM Eastern (2:30 PM Local) window, LSU is repeatedly stripped of its night advantage for massive matchups. This creates a massive performance split: LSU holds an elite .880 night record since 2000 but plunges to a sub-.500 record in daytime home games against ranked opponents.
The 2011 Pivot: The "Game of the Century" Exception
The historic 2011 9-6 overtime regular-season clash between #1 LSU and #2 Alabama registers a massive 20.01 million viewers. Recognizing the insane television value of Death Valley at night, CBS negotiates a permanent loop allowing them to broadcast one high-profile night game a year, usually reserved for Alabama.
2024–2026: The ABC/ESPN Takeover (Night Share: ~85.7% | Win Rate: ~88%)
ESPN and ABC secure exclusive rights to the SEC portfolio, officially dissolving the rigid 3:30 PM CBS daylight constraint. ABC moves to a highly flexible scheduling model. They deliberately maximize LSU's night slotting to feed off the stadium's elite primetime atmosphere. By 2026, LSU's night-game share scales back up to 85.7%, nearly identical to its 1930s baseline.

It’s not like it’s early September either. Weather for next weekend should be perfect.
Since 1938 it’s been our tradition, only interrupted by forces outside of our control.
How come the SEC says no noise makers but allows cow bells? How come neutral site conference games are allowed for some? How come the entire conference fricked everyone’s schedule to protect the tradition of a select few?
When it comes to tradition, apparently it’s pretty fricking important for some, but not us?
WE PLAY AT HOME AT NIGHT. If you sign a deal with the SEC, you understand this because the SEC should protect our tradition as vigorously as they’ve protected other member schools.
Nah, frick LSU. I prefer saying frick this crooked arse, bullshite conference.
