You probably should have said LPB, which is several stations across the state
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I had the occasion to meet Dr. Cannon at Angola and he shared much of what was covered in the last part of the show
He shared letters from family members of prisoners thanking him for reforms he had made there. He couldn’t hold back tears.
I was moved to make a donation to the dental clinic a few years later when the opportunity presented itself during a renovation.
I found this LPB special to be well done. It did justice to the man and his family. Hope others get a chance to see it.

This was such a great watch. Regardless of your age any LSU fan must watch this.
101% screwed on '59 Championship.
Billy was such a pioneer of the sport.
Al Davis used Billy to transform the TE position into what we know it is today.
The story of Billy's redemption transcends anything he did on the field.
Watch it!

It is extremely good; I teared up a few times. A definite watch for those that love LSU football.

I also watched it last night, and it is outstanding. A lot of old video footage that takes you back in time. A must see for LSU fans!

Great show.
Billy Cannon, Paul Dietzel et al. put LSU on the map.
Until that time, LSU football mattered very little even around Baton Rouge and Louisiana.
The Istrouma vs. Baton Rouge High game featuring Billy Cannon was played in Tiger Stadium one season and drew more fans than an LSU game did back then.

Great special. I love the beautiful scenery of the Felicianas in the beginning.

The prisoners at Angola bought the materials and made the coffin that Billy was laid to rest in. What a wonderful thing for them to do and speaks volumes about how respected he was by them. A man who paid his debt. Every LSU fan should be required to watch this.
