I love how a program that has had les miles and Ed O back to back turns its nose up at an NFL HC.

Moscona has been told he's on the short list so we have nothing to worry about.

I live in houston too and his daily PCs and public interactions were atrocious

He is a sarcastic a-hole with zero PR skills

Just like the baseball hire, there may not be a home run option. So if there’s not, any of the 2nd tier candidates will be criticized. Never fails Everyone always wants their guy

Winning in CFB is a completely different animal than winning in the NFL.

Yeah it’s the same sport, but takes a totally different skillset to have success.

NFL is totally about X’s and O’s and QB and game-planning… college is almost entirely about PR and recruiting because of competitive imbalances

Wasn’t good at Penn State? Walked into a complete dumpster fire as well as the ncaa allowing open transfer policy and kept the team together. Is well established as one of the best coaching jobs of the decade.

By fricking who?

Who looks back on his 7-6 and 8-5 seasons ans says man coaching job of the decade.

Not to mention he would be the de facto GM of our team.

This time I hope our AD sticks to his guns and hires his man instead of listening to the crying mob and prevent us from turning into Tennessee.

Everyone needs to understand who O’Brien is as a coach. Not a GM. But a college football coach.

The defending of O'Brien already is concerning me. He was a 15-9 college HC nearly 10 years ago. but but but he took over a team with sanctions. Okay? He still lost 9 games in 2 seasons.

Surely LSU can do better, but okay.

He was an either a coordinator/position coach for both.
We’re talking about Head Coach.
Orgeron would be a good position coach, maybe even DC, and had one good year as head coach, just like Bill.
Not everyone is cut out to be a Head Coach.
Not everyone is a retard because you disagree.

I mean sell me on more than one decent year as a college head coach.

Bill Obrien would be a terrible hire.

This fan base is full of fricking idiots.

Wanting Campbell or fleck now this arse hole

He wasn't good at Penn State and he wasn't good at Houston.

First 10 win season he'll jump back to nfl.

Somewhat agree.

You’re an idiot. There are multiple espn documentaries about that Penn State season and the unbelievable job O’Brien pulled off to keep those guys together and even have a season much less win games. You don’t have a clue.

Cool, we aren't talking about OC.

Saban can literally pluck anyone and make them look good as OC.

Brady in NE wanted him back because he was familiar with him.

Neither of those situations really apply to LSU..

I understand Penn St was in bad shape, but it's still 9 losses in his only 2 years as college HC.

Can LSU not do better than a coach who hasn't HC in college in nearly 10 years and lost 9 games when he did. If things went south with O'Brien I don't think the fans would have any patience with him. Then again, we don't really tolerate any losers.

I actually like Matt, but I definitely disagree with him defending him here.

Saban trusted Mike Locksley too. You want to go get him from Maryland?

Name one Saban assistant worth a damn. Kirby? The guy who's never beaten Saban and blown out twice by Ed?

HE WAS A HORRIBLE HEAD COLLEGE COACH

Right. His time in the pros has nothing to do with my opinion of him as a potential HC in college.

I don't even consider pros success or lack of success. That is irrelevant either way to me.

I prefer guys with more success at the college level any ways. It is NOT enough of a sample size for me to feel comfortable hiring O'Brien as HC. Just my opinion though.

BOB has a Saban personality with none of the cache to back it up.

You think these soft arse players are going to want to play for a humorless task master without the hardware?

Saban can get by on that shite because he’s Saban. BOB starts pull g that shite and half the team would quit

Bingo

We won’t hire a coach with 2 years College head coaching experience. And it’s not even recent experience. Everyone knows (or should know) that’s a terrible idea.
