People from LA support LA, and LSU is the flagship school of LA.

For me, I didn't attend LSU, but was raised as a Tiger fan (whole family went to LSU)

I'm not sure why LSU would be much different than any of the other successful Power 5 programs.

What a moron. Every toothless redneck in east Texas is an Aggie fan. Many of which never finished high school.

Why is knowing this so important to you ?

For the record, I didn’t attend LSU either but have been a life-long fan….even when I was in college elsewhere.

What a douche.

I went there for 8 years, I’m asking people my age to make conversation…how’s that terrible?

Grew up an LSU fan. Went to community college/Southern Miss/Ole Miss.

Nothing compares to The band Marching Down the Hill, the subtle aroma of brown liquor, and the sun setting over the West Upper deck as the stadium fills up.

People ask me all the time, “Did you go to LSU?”
I always reply, “yeah, several times. Mostly on Saturdays.”

I'm from out of state, but did graduate from LSU. I'm pretty much the opposite of what that stat suggests.

It's probably not that far off.
How many people graduate from LSU each year.....maybe 7,000

Think about that over the last 20 years.
That's 140,000 people. LSU is bigger now than it was before, so i would say a good estimate over the last 40 years is probably 250,000 graduates, at most. And news flash, not everyone that attended LSU cares about LSU athletics.

I think you could easily estimate there are no more than 200,000 fans alive that actually graduated from LSU. That's 4% out of 5 million.

My grandfather went to LSU, my dad also went to LSU. My parents left Louisiana after I was born and I go to school out west now. I grew up watching LSU, I cheer for LSU more than I cheer for my own school's team. I guess I'm part of the 96%. But still Geaux Tigers!

I'd guess much less than that for Bama.

ND & Bama probably lead with bandwagon fans that didn't attend the University

Better athletic programs have more non-graduate fans. More eyes gets more fans. Nobody gives a shite about northwestern or Cal if they didn't got there.

Probably 2% of USC fans attended the school. 90% of USC t-shirts and Sweatshirts purchased at Walmart.

May not be far off. The LSU brand has grown especially since 2019. Just like Notre Dame has a lot of Catholic fans that never attended. It's not necessarily a bad thing.

I grew up in Mississippi. My parents and family are from Louisiana. As much as I wanted to go to LSU, I was unable to. But anybody that knows me knows I love the Tigers with a passion.
