For a made up number he’s pretty good. I think Texas A&M should be higher.

Well, yeah. LSU is a national brand so of course they will have fans who didn't actually attend.

ive lived all over the country as an LSU fan that did not go to college there.

In my experience meeting other LSU fans are alumns - by a wide margin. Im actually shocked there are not more bandwagon people for all the success and stars they've had.

Im sure its different inside LA, but I know its the exact same in OK and other states like ohio.

Didn’t attend LSU because I got a free ride to a smaller college. Went to every LSU basketball and baseball camp as a kid. Grandparents had season tickets for 40 years.
Am I just supposed to drop my fandom because I went to school somewhere else?

I've never understood those who look down on LSU fans who didn't attend LSU. If they're buying LSU gear, occasionally buying tickets to games, getting something at the concessions, paying for parking, patronizing advertisers and sponsors, and watching LSU games on TV, supporting lucrative TV deals, then all that generates revenue for the program and athletic department.

Let’s assume all that data is accurate, I don’t see a problem or a point of gathering this info to begin with? Top football programs will develop a fan base outside of alumni. Does anyone really think top programs can fill a 100k seat stadium exclusively with alumni?

I am not LSU alumni, but I grew up in the area and been going to games since before I could say LSU.

"actually attended"?

What percentage of the stadium is the student section?

Also, Colorado at .001%? CU's stadium is less than 100,000 seats, so this means mathematically, there is, on average, just one person at CU games has ever attended the school.

So what? U think that is any different for any major P5 top 20 team? I went to USL or ULL now but I grew up a hard core Tiger fan.

Sounds about right. Most purple and gold wearing fans I have asked say they attended school elsewhere, if at all. Neighbors around her have LSU stuff in their yards and none ever attended LSU.

So are you suggesting that only LSU alumni should be LSU fans?? Does it offend you that not all fans attended LSU?

do you ask people wearing Saints gear what years they played (or worked) for the Saints?

That just tells you that Stanford and Northwestern do not have many fans.
