I don’t see how Woodward could have done any better with his choice

Well, that would take 6, which would put him past Skip. So, yeah, I'd say he'd make the cut.

Hopefully you guys aren’t setting the bar at that point. If we are lucky enough to get two to three more would be an unbelievable accomplishment. Highly unlikely and near impossible to do nowadays

And Gerry DiNardo was 1-0 against Nick Saban.

Yeah, but that was one hell of a fun 1!

He’s the best coach ever at LSU not named Skip. Saban doesn’t count. And he’ll leave the best not named Skip

The pitching cupboard was extremely bare.

It’s different posters for the most part.

Thanks for pointing this out. I kept thinking it was 8 seasons with a cancelled covid season, but it's actually been 9.

I should have counted before. Still incredible. 2 out of 4 at LSU is great. LSU was so close to hosting a Super last season too and I believe they win that Super. LSU was coming on at the right time.

Okay and Paul lost to them in the Regionals without winning a game. Jay at least won a game just lost the tough fought series.

It wasn’t ’this place’ per se. It’s just the same very loud group of 7 or 8 losers that bleed all over this board when things look rough then disappear when LSU wins.

LSU is unbelievably blessed to have Coach Johnson. He’s great at what he does and loves LSU. He also is a class act all around

Jay Johnson has been to Omaha in 4 of his 9 full seasons at Arizona and LSU (44% of those seasons)

He has been to the CWS finals in 3 of those 9 seasons (33%)

To think, not even 6 weeks ago there were fans talking about his “seat getting hot” because he wasn’t going to make it out of regionals.

If he catches up to USC he will be on thr Mt. Rushmore of LSU coaches
In the big 3 of LSU men’s sports (FB, basketball, and baseball), 1 more National Championship will make him the only coach not named Skip to win more than 1 while at LSU. A series win this weekend puts him on the LSU Mt. Rushmore.

Mutual agreement. Things had gone stale for everyone.

After winning the championship in 2009, Maineri made three trips to Omaha in 11 seasons, and that’s not counting the COVID year which was looking like one of his weakest teams. Paul did a good job here but he was pushed out. And rightfully so.
