Ok, well, compare the shooting percentages. I think you will find that your statement leans to hyperbole. Jason Kidd, maybe.

Interesting, per NBA.com

Magic's shooting percentage was 52%
Ben Simmons shooting percentage is 54%

Jason Kidd shooting percentage is 40%

Lol stupid people are stupid.

Magic's career average was .520 Diminished by health issues at the end of his career. .530 in his first full year.

Ben Simmons is .545 in his first full year. So, pretty good so far. Let's hold off for a few years before we induct him into the Hall of Fame.

I don't recall anyone saying he was better than magic or even a hall of fame like you keep implying. You know it is possible to compare similar players without saying one in his first year is better than one of the all time greats.

I think Simmons has had more triple doubles as a rookie than magic did

Yes Ben had 12 and Magic had 7.

I think it's a legit comparison. Magic couldn't shoot either at the same point in his career. They both have great court vision and both board well. Magic was a much better free throw shooter though that might come back and bit Ben in these playoffs.

in another Will Wade move he has reached out to Ben to become a new face for LSU and he is making progress, Will is trying to heal that relationship to become positive for LSU. Another good move by Will.

different era to compare especially on the defensive end. Although the ‘80’s Lakers teams loved to run, they had a strong 1/2 court game with Kareem and Worthy. They were also excellent on ball defenders just ask the Celts.

Simmons will be defended to force the outside shot. He has to develop md-range game.

James went through the same thing.

jr33 with the winning post, folks. What Simmons can AND WILL do for LSU's future recruiting is why we should all enjoy watching him develop into a top 10 all time NBA player.

If you want to blame someone for the season he was at LSU you need to look no further than Johnny jones.

Jones had no idea how to manage the egos on that team. That said, the locker room would probably have been toxic in any scenario. I don't think Simmons was the typical "one and done" player.
He is a great talent but I really don't think of him as a Tiger.

You're entitled to your opiñion but it doesn't make it true. He is objectively one of the best Tigers to ever play. Just because he hurt your little feelings doesn't mean he didn't play for LSU.

Not even Ben Simmons could overcome Johnny Jones’ stupidity. Let that sink in.

That's because Simmons is a prolific dunker. He's 9th in the NBA in total dunks as a point guard. Every other player in the top 30 is a center or power forward. He still has no perimeter jump shot. Hell, he was 0-11 from behind the arc and 56% from the free throw line.

An athletic Magic Johnson, Magic was great, but never had that kind of athleticism. Simmons dribbled right on Olynyk and then crossed over on him back to the left to explode over him for a dunk. Magic could never do that.

He still strangely shoots FT's with the left hand and shoots from the field with the right hand. I'm like wtf when he does that, if you can shoot with your right hand then shoot the damn FT's with your right hand, I think he's just showing off when he does that. I know you're ambidextrous and shite, but you're just hurting your game by doing that because to me you're confusing yourself when it comes to shooting. Do I wanna shoot right or left, choose one and stick with it because as a former player myself, I know rhythm is everything and it's hard to build a rhythm when you're doing that shite. It will be hard for him to develop a consistent J if he keeps doing that.
