You have some stupid fricking opinions
Just saying.

quote:Criminally Insane. (But that's what you're dealing inside the LSUAD) It's gonna take a lawsuit or threat of a lawsuit to get the message across to the Delicate. Geniuses. BTW, the football team SHOULD be focusing on their game assignments, not the fricking music being played in the stadium. The music is for everybody sitting in the seats and the majority don't like what's being played!
A few seasons ago when it was LSU v Southern to play music over the bands was criminal.

You'd have to go to the games to leave early troll boy.

If you do you are a special kind of stupid. Is Alabama doing this? Florida? Texas? LSU needs to get it’s priorities straight and start catering to the ppl sitting in the stands.
The frick are you talking about?
Yes those schools do this
Almost every school in the country plays piped in rap music, its not just a LSU thing
Do you watch modern day college football?

We had tickets for about 25 years, and people leaving early was the least of my worries.

What game have you attended since you're so worried about me lil girl?

dude its all about the kids. No one cares that much. You want a good football team? Well you need good players. They like the rap music.
I don’t want those players if THAT’S the deciding factor. Friend of mine was at the Auburn-UGA game. Said during a crucial 4th qtr tv timeout, Auburn’s bench was dancing and clowning to piped in rap while UGA was huddled together listening to coaches.
How’s that work out?

The point of your entire message was basically that you have no problem with a shitty atmosphere when you go to games. You've accepted all of that bullshite as the norm. People just want to bring their families out there without having to wear bullet proof vest and see half naked skank arse bitches twerking down Highland. There's zero respect for other people anymore

So the loudspeakers blaring “bitch I’m from Louisiana” 35 times a games is not annoying to you at all? They have ran than song 6 feet into the ground and makes me not even want to go to a game until they stop blaring that annoying arse song. I mean I don’t mind rap but damn play something different.

People leaving early is on them, I’ve had season tickets for over 20 years and have been bring my son with me every game since he was 6. The atmosphere is not the same. The amount of “YN’s” looking for trouble outside the stadium is ridiculous. Traffic is already terrible leaving but then throw on top of that the plethora of certain kids walking in traffic not afraid to flash a gun either because they don’t want to get out of the road, so it feels rather unsafe leaving the games now. The smell of weed everywhere even in the stadium and it’s from the same kids or the concession workers who suck already at their job. The music selection sucks balls rap and hiphop don’t get you hyped up EVER! I pay a pretty good premium for tickets and expect to be entertained and safe and LSU is doing a lousy job with my expectations. Bring in state Police to handle traffic and the National Guard to deter all the “YN’s” who are ruining the Gameday experience for everyone

doesnt bother me, i like rap. how old are you?
Old dude checking in here (GenX) ... I'm going to share an unpopular opinion here and I really DGAF the downvotes coming my way but...
Rap is fine. I get tired of hearing the same crap game after game no matter what the music. I'm not even a Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, or USCe fan but listening to those same songs as the same intro for 30 years would drive me freaking bananas.
As far as LSU:
- Calling BR
- Bih I'm from Louisana
- Not every GBFTL band song is my favorite either.
In my opinion, after going to games for 30 something years, the student section makes the most noise and it's not even close after that. In addition, maybe it's their parents paying but either way unless you were dropping $25K/year as a donor then the target demographic for music should be for the students. They get four years of their preference and then 20 years later they get to bitch about the music. So, my point is the music that you hear is for mostly the students and the players. I'm sure if you're a mega million donor you may have a say so in the music selection and even then I doubt they're gonna change the whole playlist just to please a handful of boomers. I'm sorry if some of yall are offended but I felt the need to set it off.

__________
LSU's atmosphere is consistent with any live sporting event. The violence...no one wants. This is the south, and its football season where it's hot out...girls won't wear clothes. You keep adding in things that weren't addressed. You're projecting. Which is fine, it's your truth.
It's not a shitty atmosphere. It's an atmosphere that is different than what you have cultivated in your home. Again, that's fine too.
But game day is still game day.

The fans sitting around you bitching about every play is shitty

You haven't been to many other universities then and that's fine too. You live in the bubble of BR.

Not sure what being hot has to do with dressing appropriately without your fat tits hanging out. It's not that hard. Reality is not projecting

People getting shot is definitely not cultivated in my home, you are correct

I think modern technology has caused a lot of the issue - I should know, as I just finished playing 35 years ago,
there were little or no:
Cell phones
Multi-network sports channels & available games
HD large flat screen TVs
Portable generators
Multiple glamorous RVs
I remember you still had a ton of tailgating — but people stayed through the game then went back to the tailgate. Traffic was still bad then, too

quote:Agreed. The length of the game, plus adding 20k plus seats to the stadium combined with effed-up traffic management make it easy for non-diehards to leave early if they want to.
However, 35 years ago (I was there too) the games were probably 25% shorter. The games have gone from around 3 hrs to sometimes over the 4 hour mark solely due to tv commercials. It is tough for me to sit in the same seat for 4+ hours.
Plus, after days of reading and replying to posts here on this subject, I'm starting to think that the majority of current "fans" just aren't the same as when I was younger going to games.
I'm not saying that in a bad way - different doesn't mean "bad", just not the same. Given the advent of TV and streaming/recording some can leave early and still watch the rest of the game at home - while still being able to get whatever enjoyment they derived from being there in-person for the first half.
And, being honest, I don't think most current fans think staying for the entire game is a requirement for being "loyal" to the Tigers. Back in the 70's/80's going to a LSU night game was THE thing to do on a Saturday night. These days, though, there's a lot more out there competing for the attention (and money) of fans.
I'm still nostalgic for the days when Tiger Stadium was filled with screaming lunatics intimidating opposing teams, but I'm starting to grudgingly accept that this just isn't in the mix any more - at least not like in years past.
That said, I still think there's a LOT the admin could do to make the actual in-game experience better for folks that do attend. Would it be enough to keep DV filled until the end of the game? Probably not, but it might do a lot of good to keep more people hanging around longer - and enjoying the experience a lot more.
At this point I'd normally tell you to get off my lawn, but today I'm content to just look the other way.

If it’s “all about the kids”, be prepared for half empty stadiums in a 1 score, SEC game
