Lots of great info in this thread...

Say what you will about tRant but some of the baseball posters here are extremely knowledgeable about the team and the game

Zero proven pitching… zero. I hope they do good but potential is only potential.

Floyd was on the team last year, Skenes was the top pitcher in the portal. Hurd dominated when he played last season

What are you talking about?

Floyd was on the team last year and so was Money. Floyd has potential
Skenes has never pitched at an SEC level.
Hurd not sure either.
Potential is there and I hope it works out.

That lineup from the OP. My goodness. Could you imagine having to make it through Morgan, Cruz, White, and Skenes? In a row, every time. Damn.

LSU has never had this many guys throw 95. They have a cluster of legit potential big leaguers

He pitched for team USA over the summer and did pretty well. Also held his own against his teammates in the scrimmages in fall he threw in. He has proven about all he could up until this point. Pitching staff will be just fine.

Paxton Kling is going to be hard to keep out of the outfield and lineup. The only advantage Stevenson has is 1 year of experience.

Anyone who thinks Stevenson will edge him because of speed has obviously not seen Kling run. He’s a gazelle.

Some people forget, or doubt the he impact that Wes Johnson will have. This staff will be excellent. But in the coming years, LSU’s pitching staff will become elite.

Yeah, this is a bump to put baseball back on the first page along with all the basketball bitch boxes.

I hope Milazzo can figure it out at the plate. I can promise you if he doesn’t, CJJ won’t hesitate to get him out of the lineup. Can’t have anymore automatic outs in the lineup.

If the rest of the lineup produces like can, then a defensive catcher to handle pitchers and limit steals can become a luxury. In the case that Milazzo struggles at the plate, I see him in the 8th spot.

Who knows how it will actually play out, but the options are unbelievable.

And he was pretty good and looked dominant this fall

Doesn't matter. He's a first round talent throwing 99mph.

Hurd not sure either

He was dominant when he pitched last year before his injury. 16 hits, 48 K in 34 IP

Pitched against some good teams too. OU and Arizona.

3k in 1.2 innings vs OU 0 ER 0BB

4K 1BB 1ER in 6 vs Arizona, which is a pretty good hitting team.

I read A king write up on him from some guy scouting mariners prospect. Apparently his spin rates are incredible.

Crews leading off reminds me of when the Astros put George Springer in the lead off slot. The mindset is that you can start a game off 1-0 and immediately get into the starting pitchers head.

With the addition of White, it’s a no brainer that Crews should lead off followed by Morgan

Some of you apparently just have no clue how important defense is at the catching position. And Milazzo is ELITE defensively.
