Purple homers past White 2-1 in 5 innings.

1st Beloso 0-2 2K
LF Bianco 0-1 BB cs

C Milazzo 0-2 K
SS Hughes 0-0 BB
DH Doughy 0-1

Pitchers
Marceaux 92mph 2.2IP 3K
Vietmeier 87mph 2IP 2H ER 3K
Gunter 90mph 1IP 3K

White
CF Hampton 0-3 K
2nd Doughty,C. 0-2
LF Toups 1-2 sb
DH Garza 1-2 2b rbi
C Travinski 0-3 2K
RF Samford 0-2
SS Cranford 0-2 2K
1st Willis 0-2 2K
3rd Biggs0-2 2K

Pitchers
Labas 89mph 2IP 2H 2ER K
Beck 87mph 2IP 2BB K
Lagarrique 86mph 1IP BB K

Scrimmage started about one hour early resulting in my missing the first inning. I found out that the two homers occurred during Purple's first at bat and that White went 3 up, 3 down in their half inning.
The scoreboard showed White had 3 hits for the game but, I only saw 2. I possibly missed someone getting that other hit.

Looks like Gunter K’d the side. Any idea who he faced?

And Cranford is throwing? I thought he was coming off TJ?

Great stuff!

Do they scrimmage tomorrow? Time?

How are catchers doing defensively? I know Milazzo had a good fall in the field.

Gunter struck out Willis, Biggs and Hampton to close out the scrimmage.
Cranford is throwing without restriction this spring and has made several good throws from SS.

AJ Labas was throwing low 90's in fall. This is the first time I have seen him this spring.

I am not either only for the potential waste of his power. However I understand that there is more that goes into being a good lead off guy.

Outside of that...you are only guaranteed to lead off once......

The scrimmage scheduled for Sunday was postponed till next weekend due to rain forecast. The schedule for next week will probably be posted Monday or Tuesday.
All three catchers have looked good at controlling the running game so far. Runners are 1-5 in stolen bases in the two scrimmages. Travinski is 0-2, Garza is 0-1, and Milazzo is 1-2.

What was he topping out at last season? Obviously it's super early, but that just seems a lot lower than I remembered
