A lot of strikeouts, hopefully it was just great pitching.

Only 2 of the strikeouts came from a projected starter. That’s the 2 from Beloso. So it looks worse than it may be.

I’m fine with it if the other guys with power are hitting. I would love some leadoff HRs.

Bianco and Dugas with a green light? Is this just a scrimmage thing?

I'm sure that just about everyone has a green light during scrimmages. I remember coach saying something about working with the pitchers on holding runners and improving their delivery times recently. Also, the catchers need practice throwing to the bases. It helps the base runners time pitchers and get better jumps. So far, I think it is paying dividends while not costing anything important.

Same. I’m more in line of 2 Mathis and 3 Cabrera but that would mean either Digiacomo or Dugas at lead off.

Mainieri said during his presser Thursday that "you can't steal first base" referring to DiGiacomo. If his OBP improves we may see him in the lead off spot. I don't see a prototypical lead off batter among the starters at this time.

Gio has way too much swing and miss in his game to be as fast as he is. He needs a come to Jesus moment regarding his approach at the plate and he needs it fast.

I'm with you on this Cotton. I seen him swinging at pitches that were not even close. I'm hoping Eddie Smith will help him with this. If not, we have other options in the outfield. I personally don't think it will be Hampton either. Maybe deep in the season for Hampton. I think it will be a while before he is ready.
