That thread was even worse than I remembered.
He's blindingly stupid, supremely confident, and extremely dishonest.

I think I’ve suffered a concussion from reading burreauxx’s posts in that thread.
I remember that he was shitting on Jay’s recruiting and coaching all last season and was trying to give Mainieri and Wes Johnson all the credit for the 2023 NC.

I can forgive a lot of shite posting last season because most of the season was extremely disappointing in multiple ways and had most of us beyond frustrated. But there's no excuse for that guy

I don’t think that’s crazy but i also don’t agree. Stuff-wise(mainly velo) was similar, but I think this staff has better pitchers. Having a 3rd starter is going to work wonders for the bullpen usage. I think Herring was forced into too many desperate situations last year, and while everyone wants to find the “next Herring”, I don’t. I prefer the modern model of bullpen usage and I think lsu has the starters & the arms to pull that off So if you told me all LSU has to do is find 3-4 consistent bullpen arms (vs 1 last year), I think they have the guys to do that. Then you ride some of the other guys situationally.
This time last year, we thought that there would be three starters in Holman, Jump and Hurd.

We need to ban that burreauxx fricker. I am typically amused by entertaining threads and witty banter but his garbage posts made me irrationally angry.

The SP options after SP2 are way less volatile than Hurd. However you want to cut it

Yeah, last year we went into the season relying on Holman (a guy who had one good year and one bad year), Jump (a guy who had 12 IP in his career) and Hurd (a guy who had elite makeup but was either elite or awful outing to outing.)
Then you had Herring and Guidry as the only reliable arms with experience in the bullpen. That was really it. You were hoping a bunch of guys with potential made a big jump, with a total of 3 pitchers having successful college pitching experience (5 if you include Ulloa and Loer).
This year you go into weekends with
1. Anderson
2. Eyanson
3. Shores
All three guys have had success pitching in college, two of which stretched out a good bit.
Then in the bullpen you have experienced guys in
1. Guidry
2. Cowan
3. Dorsey
4. Fontenot
High potential guys, some of whom have flashed in scrimmages or lower levels
1. Schmidt
2. Evans
3. Ware
4. Mayers
5. Rizy
6. Primeaux (I'm high on him)
7. Williams
Others that could contribute
1. Woods
2. Noot (yes a former top 100 player is this low on the list. that's how deep I think this staff is)
3. Benge
4. Thompson
Still really wish we had Sheerin.

To be fair going into last season names such as Loer, Ackenhausen, Coleman, Woods were supposed to give at least something in situational outings.
Noot was expected to be pitching by April.
Johnson was the highest ranked arm to get to campus and wasn't expected to be an absolute disaster.
It's easy to look back at stats but my original statement pages ago was the bullpen at the beginning of last year was thought to be a strength by almost everyone, it obviously didn't end up that way.
Edit: When Hurd has a disastrous beginning it destroyed everything related to having a strong bullpen.

I like building the staff around guys who have been around the program a while - Anderson, Shores, Guidry.
You also have 3 starters who can pitch themselves into the first round this year. 2 of the 3 could jump to the top 10 picks.

People are sleeping a bit on Noot. He's going to get better and better with more innings IMO.
Good command of a 3 pitch mix, and he finished spring with 9 K's in 9 2/3 (if I recall correctly) and most importantly only 1 walk.
That will play even if you give up some hits here and there from being around the zone.

Completely forgot about Ack. I'd put him in that "good experience" group
To me, Coleman was always just the same guy that could maybe go 2 innings max but would probably give up a run. After the injury he wasn't the same.
Woods I didn't know what to expect but he got lit up pretty good in the cape IIRC.
Johnson I had high hopes but he was awful in the spring
I just feel more confident going into the year. Of course, my views are a little jaded as I know the results of the '24 season.

Cowan has been sitting 89-92. 94 is an outlier for him.

My guess based on scrimmages and a little of my opinion would be:
1. Stanfield - CF
2. Curiel - LF
3. Jones - 1B
4. Brown - RF
5. Dickinson - 2B
6. Milam - SS
7. Hernandez - C
8. Pearson/Larson - DH
9. Braswell - 3B
I could see that, but I would flip Brown and Milam based on what I saw at scrimmages.

Maybe Jones will hit 60 HR's and we can not worry about any of this
Posted on 2/11/25 at 9:09 pm to Adam4848
I think the biggest key to whether or not LSU will have the season we all hope for is whether or not Kade Anderson can actually be "that guy" on Friday nights to match up with other SEC aces (e.g. Ryan Prager).
If you don't have a stud on Friday it is tough to finish at the top.

Damn that was obnoxious to have to reread. Wanted to downvote every stupid post he made to find I already did 8 months ago
Making the determination this team would have no stars 8 months before the season begins is extremely naive. There are many stars that have one stellar season and the rest above average. There’s at least several players if not a handful on this roster that will pan out as stars. Many of the players he proclaimed stars himself in the last decade had just one great season to hang their hat on.

I agree that those 2 are interchangeable in that lineup. Can really just take whichever one is hotter at the moment to keep someone behind Jones who is hitting to protect him.
