LOL at all the self proclaimed baseball experts that told us TRE WOULD NEVER be moved to OF to make room for both Jones and White’s bats. Y’all look so dumb like really really dumb!

Who was saying that?

Same here. Tre at 1st is something I would never touch.

Where is defense being sacrificed? At 1B? Lol

Don’t be so obtuse. If you take someone widely considered an exceptional fielding 1st baseman, it’s not laughable to think you’re likely giving up some defense at that position.

Jones will dh once white is healthy

Sure. Not every game will have the same lineup. I'm willing to bet Tre is a much better OF than Jobert and Pearson. If the IF keeps throwing accurately there's no reason not to upgrade your OF defense over 1B

Zeb is the only position player that has not had an at bat this year. Figured he was redshirted

What makes you think morgan is a better defensive outfielder than pearson?

I haven't seen Morgan play OF but dont really need to. He's more athletic, has great body awareness and ball skills. Hes shown good range on foul balls from 1B. Only thing I'd be concerned about is the arm and that's just because we haven't seen it. Pearson is pretty average back there. Definitely not a liability and better than Jobert, but Morgan has the better tools.

Wasn't Jones a super highly ranked catcher?

I love Brady so far - I'm a Milazzo fan, too - but if Jared can actually field the position I'd be willing to give it a shot. Dude's big as a house, and can really hit well and with power.

Seems that if so, that could open up space for yet another big bat in the lineup.

Ah well, just an existential musing. No doubt CJJ has explored that possibility....

You hide poor defensive players at 1B because it is the least important position on the field, outside of maybe LF. That is why I laughed. Like that was some novel idea.

Jones looks fine there, regardless. He is big, but he moves really well for his size. He can bend, and being a former catcher, can track balls.

CJJ said on his post game PC that he stayed up till 11 pm working out the lineup. Point being, that lineup was not something he just thru out there; he & his coaches sat down for hrs working it out. Pretty sure they know better than anyone here which player cam play where the best.
