They would be held accountable for not showing up to play in the game. If they had put up a fight and lost a close game then it would be a different story.

Makes sense though.
The SEC championship is a second round game.
The way it is now doesn't make a tremendous amount of sense.
Its a disadvantage to both teams.
Makes sense in the NFL because it's for a super bowl bid.
Here its a lose lose situation.

It should be the end of the conference championship game. There's very little to be gained unless you're a big underdog and manage to pull out a win to get into the playoff. OTOH, if you're likely to get a playoff bid (like Mama was??), the risk(s) outweigh the benefit(s). I would've rather been in the position of A&M and Ole Miss w/ an extra week to coach, scout, scheme and heal.

Until LK actually beats Alabama more than once (while at LSU), nothing changes.
I am optimistic, but I am not predicting Bama decline until it happens.
Plus, replacing Bama's dominance with UGA's dominance is not an improvement.
I want LSU to be dominant. Screw UGA and Bama.
I hope all SEC teams lose their first playoff game.
