They will 100% win the lawsuit and get paid.

The only dirt they have would be on LSU/Kiffin. The discovery in this suit could severely damage the program.

So you don’t think they were contacted by other schools doing the same thing?

Assuming you’re right, do we find a way to pay them somehow and this ends?

Tony will definitely make this about race before this is over and hope he embarrasses the SEC.

Again even if we suggest the players sue it’s no different than what Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss, Vandy, Tennessee, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri have all done. Which is get a player to challenge NCAA eligibility rules in hometown court.

The difference here is after the ruling against the NCAA the SEC decided to get involved for the first time ever, passed a new rule drawing a bright line distinction here and insisting they still have authority even if NCAA doesn’t, and then so got dragged into it.

Acting like a school or coach coordinating with a player to sue for eligibility is some heinous crime as opposed to a commonplace practice the last 4 years is revisionist bullshite.

The smart play for LSU is for LSU to pay them to go away. That's the rational move.

Rationality hasn't been a big part of this on LSU's side for some time now, though.

The player from Texas is not seen the same as these 2 guys LSU tried.
Then why did Texas not play him last week and list him as ineligible? The testimony by Sankey in the Louisiana trial, erased the line between the Texas player and our two guys. They were proven to be in the same boat. Also, did the Texas player remove his name from the NFL draft?

NCAA, not SEC

These players were never eligible for the SEC

LSU/Kiffin being super aggro and working in the grey areas and trying to find loopholes forced the SEC to clarify the rules.

I didn't say it's a "heinous crime"

It is, however, exactly what the SEC is trying to prove to punish LSU

LSU conspiring to sue the SEC to use a sympathetic state court to revoke the SEC's enforcement authority has always been the major issue that the SEC has singled out LSU.

Violating SEC rules and vicariously attacking the conference is clearly a big deal to the other teams in the SEC.

The conference jumped into this with both feet. It was just against the NCAA but the conference not LSU or the players said hey we are going above and beyond the NCAA and saying those two players specifically can not join LSU. Everyone else is fair game except those two players and that school.

TBH, they should list LSU too. Listing LSU shows the pressure levied against the university by the SEC to violate a TRO.

Also we need to fix our academics because having a possible move to the B1G would give us some real leverage

No, the SEC is going to pay them. And Sankey is going to end up back on the witness stand again.

Do you think Ole Miss didn't assist/encourage Chambliss to sue?

He sued the NCAA, not the SEC

That's because the SEC showed bias and didn't come out with a rule targeting him like they did in this case. They drew a very specific line that only attacked these two guys. They wanted the fight with LSU.

Harris has literally said that old piss was recruiting him and the only reason he even considered LSU was that pete wanted to move him to OL.
