As I listen to Kelly, I really love the discipline, accountability, and expectations.

Yes! It's been a clown show for well over a decade.

It'll be nice to see a coach hold kids to a standard of behavior. Also, I imagine he will be targeting recruits differently. It's all part of the "process."

If you come to LSU and don't act right, you can and will be replaced by someone else who will.

Absolutely

My favorite thing I've heard so far was the self accountability among the players and basically that he and the coaches are not their babysitters.

He has the same mindset of saban . This is what we need and why I thought Aranda would also be a good choice. Detail oriented and focused on the big picture.

I wonder if some of the attraction of the LSU job is because Kelly views himself as good or better than saban, but hamstringed by ND academics. His record is pretty impressive but without the championships he’s not in the same conversation. He’s definitely got a higher ceiling at LSU, and must still have something to prove by jumping into the SEC firestorm at this point in his career. He could’ve comfortably gone 10-2 at ND the rest of his career and nobody would’ve thought any less of him. Contrast that with Lincoln Riley who went to an easier job with less expectations and less competition. I think that’s a good sign for LSU.

Did you see him clean up that mess Cody got him in - re: changing the culture? I’ll bet he was pissed at him for that.

One thing that hasn't sit right with me is when he was introduced at the basketball game last week and said I haven't even won all "my games" yet. Just thought it was odd to refer to the games as his.

Other than that I'm pumped to see what he does.

Having a Coach who can speak coherently and doesn’t speak in goofy quirks or sounds like Cookie Monster is nice for a change.

He is a PROGRAM builder. That takes an entirely different skill set than a guy who can assemble a team. All the Saban cliches apply here. He’s about standards and process. Short term there will be some pain but over a 10 year time frame I see a lot of huge wins.

There’s been a lot of disciplinarian coaches and only one Saban.

I’d be concerned about how his hard-line coaching style transfers from the kids Notre Dame brought in to the average LSU recruit. It’s a totally different ballgame.

He’s got a clear path. Whether it works is the question

I don’t much like the fake southern accent he uses when he speaks at basketball games tho

Imagine, if you will, Ed Orgeron trying to make such claims as CBK has done.

I think this is legit, I think the program will be as clean and disciplined more so than ever before.

It’s so refreshing. For the first time in 15 years our program isn’t led by a cartoon character for a coach. No more stupid off the wall questions about gumbo and eating grass during interviews. Just football and fundamentals.

A life lesson that if learned, will benefit them in everything they ever do!

Debatable. Usc has a lot of sidewalk fans that care when they’re winning and disappear when losing, not necessarily calling for the coach’s head. OU will struggle to meet their usual expectations in the sec.

We haven’t had that since Saban.
