Let's be honest though, if our mess ups in the field didn't happen, the bottom of the 9th never gets played.

So it sucks for Arkansas fans, but every game you can pinpoint mistakes that changed the game.

No guarantee tha Milam would not have been safe. He runs well. Getting the lead runner kept the force intact on all bases.

Unless the turn was bobbled Milam was not even to the running lane when he got the ball. It was tailor made. The OF error is what it is but the failure to turn two is not excusable.

He didn't follow the old motto....."know where you are going with the ball if it's hit to you".

I dont think its going to be discussed that much.

Remember when Jake Brown dropped a routine fly ball vs North Carolina to send North Carolina to the CWS? I dont think I even seen it mentioned.

Had the 3rd baseman thrown directly to first they might have had a shot.

Hell the 3rd baseman almost had time to throw out Milam
So the terrible decision by the 1st baseman to field the ball the 2nd baseman had, to that, to the ball off the shoulder.

Right. But it's a fun game. Add in the fact that LSU blew the DP in the top of the 9th or it all would have been different. The fact that they're all still kids who make mistakes adds to the entertainment value.

Now, we would have called time before to make sure everyone knew the runner on 2nd didn’t matter. Maybe DVH could learn from me

the entire team and coach had just huddled up. no excuse.

the runner crossed his face and Aloy panicked. that run means nothing, you absolutely roll the tailer made double play and end the game

think SVP even said if the 1B makes the right play on Curiel's grounder then Aloy's throw to 3rd ends the game. Chain of dumb events on Arkansas's part..

How? There wouldn’t have been anyone running to third.

On the replay it looked like the first baseman was playing almost on the grass. With a two run lead I have no idea why he was playing so deep. Arkansas played that inning as if the score was tied or they had a one run lead.

good point. I guess they meant the double play ball would not even have been needed.

They can be blamed equally. To Aloy's credit, he put them in a position to win with one more out, which Davalan should have had.

Haven’t see it mentioned but he had to take a couple steps to his right to field the ball and a lot of coaches will tell you if you have to move right make the play in front of you. Not fair to assume the double play in that situation and I don’t think he panicked just took the sure thing. Anyway, glad he did what he did and the Tigers are moving on!
