Nail on the head. In any other season prior with other coaches, I’d be concerned. But you’re right with Coach BK we are in good hands.

He could - but I don’t think Howard would wait and stick around to find out - I think he starts next season at LSU or somewhere else

Given the fact that Howard was hell bent on redshirting, I can't see him jumping ship just because he's not the starter in year 2.
He and his dad have been thinking long term the whole time.
Now, if we get to 2024 and he still hasn't played, then I'll be worried

Based on LSU’s ability to develop QBs….I’d be willing to let them both walk if it meant LSU can get a QB is already developed and is ready to play.

Walker is Kelly’s guy. He wanted him at Notre dame. The best should play but I doubt he will let Howard leave. Even if nuss wins job walker will play

This thread is not only redundant but pointless. Not a soul on this board has seen Walker Howard play an SEC game. Hell, I doubt that anyone has seen him practice.
Nussmeier, on the other hand, will do whatever he thinks is best for him. What fans, the coaches or TB want/think won’t figure in. And shouldn’t.
Ironically, There is every chance that Daniels stays and beats them both out. This kid is so much better than most of y’all think

I will never understand you people already anointing Howard the second coming. We've actually watched Nussmeier play and play really well, yet he still can't seem to measure up to the image people already have in their heads when it comes to Howard.

I have known Walker personally since he was little so I check in on these threads periodically to monitor the hysteria. The amount of pressure that you people are putting on him is off the charts. He is a top quality kid who has been through a lot and he will absolutely give 100% to be the best player and teammate that he can be. He may be the next Tom Brady, or he may wash out...nobody can read the future. But putting these absurd expectations on a 19 year old kid is ridiculous and does a tremendous disservice to him and, ultimately I believe, the success of the team because he can't help but feel it.

I'm actually against Daniels starting again and believe Nuss gives them the highest ceiling but I still think Daniels has talent and a lot of people in here don't seem to realize Daniels was every bit as talented as Howard coming out of HS, and Nussmeier about the same as well.
The only thing I can gather from the pro-Howard over everyone crowd is that Howard is Jamie Howard's son. Thats it.
I think Walker Howard can be very good but the expectations already being heaped on him are insane and unfair. Hopefully Daniels goes pro and Nuss gets 2 good years of starting before going pro and opening up the position for Walker Howard. Thats the most ideal situation, but the most likely scenario is there is a transfer situation because statistically speaking roughly 60% of QBs transfer in college over the course of their career. You hope LSU doesn't have to do that again, but its the most likely outcome.
Let's all cross our fingers and hope Daniels goes pro to alleviate some pressure off the QB room over the next few years.
