It's always hope at the start of the season, we shall see!

Cautiously optimistic. I don't expect much from the QB position but I'm hoping the defense figures something out.

Let's wait until after the bowl game for this thread.

I am a fan. I will watch but the passion level may or may not be what it has been.
My entire perspective is different. It feels like 1997 to me. I think we can win 8 to 9 with our talent but had no illusions that we will compete for anything significant. We are no longer a program currently capable of winning conference or national titles.

Cautiously optimistic
Decades of Tiger fandom have taught me this, every year I am cautiously optimistic. And the coaches who taught me that were not Miles and Saban but Hallman and Dinardo.
I was excited with the Hallman hire, not realizing that his success at Southern Miss was mostly due to Favre. Then watching Dinardo nose dive after bringing the magic back.
Since then I'm a little slower to get excited (maybe it's old age). But I do think this team has more potential than any since 2011 if a few things can get corrected.

Any time LSU plays I'm excited.

I do kind of feel this way and maybe add after we know which recruits we have officially sign. But I understand the OP wondering because I think we have an expectation, already, that will affect our optimism going forward.

I'm always excited and have hope. I keep my pessimism in check until after the 2nd loss. The hope is there, but I certainly don't have the confidence in the program I had during Miles first few seasons or when Saban was here.
