Look at the mess he got Aggy in with Fisher.
That was a terrible contract. SUre, Aggy doubled down on it this year, but it was a terrible decision from the start and an epically terrible negotiation for the school.
Why is everyone so sure he will do better here?

Aggy had one of their greatest seasons in ages under Jimbo. Jimbo isn’t the problem, aggy culture is the problem.

Are we forgetting that the previous AD tried to get Jimbo here and the whole country thought he’d kill it at aTm.
And Woodward very likely had deep pocketed aTm boosters pushing him to give Jimbo that money.
Just because he isn’t working out doesn’t mean it was a bad move.
I have faith that Woodward will make a good hire, certainly a much better hire than his predecessor made. If he doesn’t he will be the next one looking for a new gig.

Why do people care about how much money Jimbo makes? If they want to fire him, they will. Just like LSU will fire O and pay his buyout.
There’s no salary cap. Money spent on a head football coach is dwarfed by how much the school brings in when it has an outstanding football program

In ages? They had a better year under Sumlin. Jimbo's body of work says he is a big problem. Aggie culture might suck, too, but a great coach can fix a culture problem. Jimbo isn't the guy to do that.

They went 9-1 in the Covid year. Now this year all you A&M Bandwagon Riders watch and see what happens.
Here is what is perplexing. Jimbo doesn’t win the SEC West but you hail him as some great hire and he is going to be 3-3 after this weekend.
Orgeron finishes #6 and wins the Fiesta Bowl in 2018. Then follows it up with a National Title in 2019.
Yet Jimbo is a hero to some of y’all.
I get that Orgeron has screwed shite up but stop it with this Jimbo praise. As a matter of fact throw Kiffin under that bus as well.

Revision is history. When the decision was made, he hired a national championship winning coach. It hasn’t bared fruit, but that doesn’t fall solely on the coach. As much as Fisher has screwed up, he is capable of putting together a team that could make a run.
Scott is a bright guy & he is more than capable of picking a quality coach. Hell, our last AD was an idiot who made a bad hire that one a championship! Think what a smart one that made a great hire could accomplish?!

A&M made it very clear that Jimbo was their only target. Jimbo at the time was still considered an elite coach with a national championship under his resume. He had all the leverage and Woodward still got the deal done.
He hired Chris Peterson away from Boise State where he turned downed multiple Power 5 jobs including USC. Who went on to be a very successful coach at Washington and even led them to the college football playoffs.

I don't know, but people constantly bring up how much O is paid on this board to back up a complaint they have against him.
Much like the melting over the "fishing hole" comment, but they would love that comment if Trump had said it to someone.
